I keep blowing out those cheap pile of shit paper gaskets that go between my catback and downpipe every time I no-lift-shift. It’s fucking annoying. The only problem is I can’t seem to locate one that’s made of metal.
Any ideas? Tried napa, advance, etc. and they all have the generic felt/paper one that melts/falls apart after 250 miles.
Clean both surfaces very well and put them together with no gasket but a thin bead of copper RTV. Worked for my GTP. The copper gasket would be the better choice tho. Im also having this problem with my daily. Its a pain in the nuts!
I did this before. Several times. And each time it blew out within 1000 miles. :banghead
The problem is I have the softest motor mounts known to man, so anytime I shift a little harder than normal the engine slams around like PJB and a goat in the bedroom together
My GTP was eventually converted to a 3 bolt 3" Header flange with copper gaskets. Get a competent welder to weld one up for ya. use locking nuts and not the kind with plastic in them…
