Where to get Quaife Installed?

Im planning on buying a Quaife ATB differential for my 02 maxima. I know if I buy it, I am going to need to have it professionally installed because I do not have the resources or the knowledge to do it myself. Does anyone know of a reputable shop in the wny area that does LSD installs?, and more importantly…does them well? I know that if installed incorrectly, things could turn disasterous, and thats exactly what Im trying to avoid. Any help is appreciated.

For those of you that have Quaife’s and did not install them yourself, where did you go that was good??

Thanks.

ooh

should almost qualify for sticky

I did a search and didnt come up with anything. If there is a similar thread, please post a link.

I can most likely do it for you…did you need to have the tranny taken off and reinstalled as well or would you br bringing the tranny to me?

yeah… i’ve known people to think they or a typical shop could handle it… great way to waste $800 + re&re

just have newman weld the stock one together lol

I might stop in Wholesale Transmission on walden in lancaster to talk to the guys there. Chris (MaximaSE98) told me he had some work done there and it was good.

innovative?

Give Alistair a call. There’s a very good chance he can do it. He’s one of a very few people that I would trust unconditionally when it comes to doing work on a car. If he says he can do it, it will be done and done right. Otherwise, he won’t waste your time.

word interprep is awesome

I would imagine you would need a special shim selection tool for the bearing preload on your diff as well as I did when I installed my Quaife ATB. Its the only way to have it preloaded correctly is to use the tool. My guess is that many people or shops wouldn’t do this, and your bearing and ring gear life could be at risk.

agreed. Most places just press the bearings on and off with no thought for the thousandths of an inch they are offsetting the differential and say fuck it anyway. Not the correct way to do it.

Well, when I talked to the sales rep from Quaife, he said something along the lines of “fit and forget”. Im assuming the “fit” part is the bearing preload. If I cant find a place that does good work and hopefully has experience installing Quaife ATB diffs, then I may have to bail on the whole thing. arrggg…

OK, I see you have no interest in my offer. Fuck you then. go pay 600+ to have it done.

I want a shop to do it, not some chump in his garage that when he fucks it up, IM SOL, and there is nothing I can do about it. Also, Im not driving to jamestown

A.) He is not SOME CHUMP
B.) Pretty sure he works at swervemotorsports.com

andy is a very talented mechanic you are a fucking retard and should research befor you open your moulth. no shop is going to warranty a part you brought them anyways ass clown

Dont talk, I know who you are, you went to sweet home. Youre a fucking dumbass altogether. GED boy right?? or not even that.

Didnt mean to insult him ‘andy’, but there is no reason for him to say “Fuck You” to me. When someone says “i might be able to do it” sounds like “ill give it a try”. This is my DD and cant afford to be out of commission for more than a couple days, so you may be able to understand my concern for wanting it done right the first time.

Wow. This can go nowhere good. I’ll vouch for Andy’s workmanship, but I went to Kenmore East, so what do I know?

This doesn’t make any sense - your profile says :
“I enjoy cars, but I have no desire what-so-everto mod my car.”
Yet here you are looking to get a Quaife installed.
