spun a oil pump bearing, reaplce pump change oil. there are ways to check this but all require turning the motor over which i wouldnt do now just as a precaution. making no boost is the part that worries me. i dont know why you wouldnt make boost. i cant remember if the 1.8t’s had an oil pressure sensor that would make the car go limp, it wouldnt surprise me considering a temp sensor can make the car go haywire, but still…no boost is throwing me for a loop. call and talk to chris, he is super nice and extremely knowlegable.
if the crank is scored, you will need either a.) the crank to be replaced b.) a machinist to turn the crank. check your oil, if it looks like a gold miner’s pan you’re in deep.
if the rod and cap are out of round you will need those as a replacement, plus bearing sets (clevite are a good cost-effective brand). if the crank can drop without the motor being pulled, great. otherwise, plan on the removal in your bill.
the car is drive by wire, and the ecu is designed to yank timing way way back when ever it feels like it, NOT just to control detonation
he said the car doesnt accellerate … thats the cause for no boost, the ecu senses a problem and wont allow teh car to be driven hard enough to build boost, and probably intentionaly adjusts timing and fuel to make sure theres no boost
if its all wheel, its not a good idea to dolly it, , you would have to do -30 mph for shjort distances at a time … otherwise say good bye to the center diff
