Posting for a friend at work:
Where to find a tranny for '97 VR6 (6cyl), 5 speed. Tranny code “CCM”. Apparently the tranny is the same for '94-'99 models.
Apparently one of the gears has “ground through the case” and now she’s leaking 1/2 qt. of oil / day.
Anyone know of a good place to find this?
Anyone know of another VDub with the same tranny?
Junkyards are out, he’s called every one - not enough junk VR6’s around here.
KTHX
if this belongs in WTB (which I didn’t think so) please move

CCM W/Quaife —> http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2259782
any 02a vr6 tranny will fit, but some have differnt gear ratios… Nothing drastic.

Hey probably could get a VR6 transmission with a Quaife or Peloquin already installed for $1000. Rebuild shops around here in my experience are too overpriced.

He’s happy with the place he found and it’s not my car.
I’ve mentioned all of the options posted to him, and he’s happy.
Thanks though.
