Yep i had 2 bolts sheer off while trying to remove them. Had to reverse drill them out. That really sucked.
Especially one with technical info. What a bunch of bull.
I don’t think it matters at all. Once the bolts are torqued there shouldn’t be much load on the bolts/studs. The friction between the wheel surface and the hub it what locks the wheel down. If you have a load across the bolt, I would think your fasteners are too loose. Come to think of it, the outer part of the threads on the bolt/stud should never touch the wheel after they are tight. Ball seat or cone seat they should center and be clear from the wheel completely.
As for resistance to loosening? Not sure, I’ve never had a properly tightened bolt or nut loosen up.
