need to replace wheels studs

where should i go to have this done? i need longer wheel studs for the vette. anyone sugest anyplace? i would do it but im thinking there might be a better way then having me pound the shit out of it. i dont want to ruin my bearings.

halp!!!

2 lug nuts and spin them out yourself. Your wheel bearings wont see any stress. Put a jack stand under the hub so you dont wrench on the control arms. You’ll do it much more carefully than any shop would anyway.

Edit: Doh, you prob dont have thread in studs, eh? I’m with ya now. Carry on everyone.

Explain…not following the 2 lug nuts thing…

Jclark, i have pressed in studs and to my knowledge they have to be pounded out like seans sisters rear-end. :eek

i have never done this and i can see myself getting very mad pounding the shit out of it and breaking something. then i would hate myself and put my fist through something, like seans mom. :eek

so if anyone knows someone who can do this for me, im almost 100% sure i found studs, and im not talking about what seans mom calls me in bed. :eek

You put on 2 lug nuts…

You wrench on the inside one so that it presses against the outside one so it has no where to go thus causing the stud to spin out

heat up the stud… But the lugnut or any nut that will thread as you may destroy the lug nut and pound it out

oh here deatbeat… just for you…

ok just talked to pfadt and they have everything i need but…they told me they hubs have to come off the car. he also said it takes 400+ ft/lbs of tq to get it off and special tools are needed. so my next question is, anyone know any corvette specific guys that will do this that i can trust. synapse do not know much about vettes, and redline im weary of since day one.

HALP!

Bring it to a chevy dealer. Thats your best bet

wow that’s retarded. thank you for threaded hubs bmw?

just called denooyer and they want $600 for labor. sean, u paying?

No because you made fun of my sister so now you can pay for it your self

Justified burn. Sorry deadbeat.

I doubt you have to remove the hubs but even if you do, just impact those suckers off. It’s still not a hard job. Dooo it.

ok heres the deal. the studs will not come out without the hub off…OR… drill a hole in the shield to slide the stud through and rotate it 5x and wala! $600 in pocket to buy something nice for seans sister. was thinking dinner, nice outfit (aka lingerie) and a rubber fist. talk about a good time! :hug

Hole in shield is the obvious choice then. Dew it. For Sean’s sis.

step 1. dill hole in shield
step 2. use seans sisters oscillating viberator to wiggle out studs
step 3. clean off va-jay jay residue on threads
step 4. put new studs in.
step 5. …
step 6. profit!

i can do this one weekend at my shop. let me know if you are interested via pm. i will give you a price quote then.
