Epson PowerLite S1 Projector…this is the one i have been looking at getting, it had great reviews plus lots of options for the price. best for the money imo

X1 is old … dont bother

Personally I’ve been using a HP vp6320, quality/brightness is amazing.

None of the above. The resolution on all of those is only 800x600. I’drather have a 1024x768 native so that in widescreen you still have decent resolution. Better yet, if you only plan to use it for movies, get one that has a native resolution designed for widescreen.

Something like this for example… (may not be bright enough, IMO, but you get the idea)

I would freaken kill for a projector…Zwarbyt brought over a sweet one from his work and we played video games on the side of a barn…I want one soo bad now.

sorry for the lack of intelligent advice

they have sponsors that sell projectors, dont skimp out on a projector or you will be sorry.

its for my bedroom, so it isn’t exactly a priority. I agree about the 1024x768… humm… i am looking to spend 700ish. It will not be used very often… maybe once a week.

When the bulbs cost $400-500 to replace, you’ll end up with a “disposable” projector for $700…

Make sure to keep an eye on the noise level specs if they have them as well. Many projectors are intrusively noisy, especially if you have them placed nearby where you are sitting.

how about this one? I guess I could spring a little more.

Projector is just not worth it. Upkeep (PROPER UPKEEP) is way too expensive. Take that money and by a flatscreen plasma.

but a plasma for 700 bux? I haven’t seen many good ones for that price. What kind of upkeep is there for a projector other than bulbs?

native resolution doesnt mean shit anymore… All DVD’s are recorded in 480P anyway… its ALL resized no matter what the projectors resolution. What you need to be looking for is a projector with the best reviews… Period. Signal processing quailty and image clarity is what you need. The infocus 4805 gets my vote for a very good unit that you MAY be able to get for $700.

Remember that dispalying a computer monitor image is VERY different from dispalying full motion video and movies. Most projectors were originally designed for powerpoint presentations and shit. Find one that was SPECIFICALLY designed for Home Theatre.

ok… might have a winner…

PB6200 DLP Projector (1024x768, 1700 Lumens, 2000:1, HDTV Compatible)

anyone have .02 on this one?

Well that makes sense, but then it would throw the $700 price range right out of the window

And then what happens if you want to play GT4 in 1080i ?

PS2, Xbox and game cube are already hooked up to the TV in my living room
