on 28 south, coming back towards Shaler from RIDC park today, a Mercury Sable smashed into my driver’s side mirror at well over 90mph… as he was being chased by a few cop cars. i pulled over and called 911 and they told me to go to the millvale police station and wait for an officer. as i drove down 28, i saw that the Sable had gone over to the Northbound side and had been boxed in and stopped by nearly a dozen cops.

So I went to the Millvale police station and I talked with an officer who had brought the guy in. So, turns out mine was the only car that he hit in the pursuit, so he’s getting one misdemeanor charge of hit + run, in addition to his original offence…

wait for it…

expired inspection

he ran from the cops over expired inspection.

fucking douchenozzle.

so next week i get to go in front of the magistrate with an estimate and seek restitution… ugh.

damage is hardly noticeable… cracked the mirror housing, but not the mirror… the mirror still moves (it’s electric) and still heats up. There’s just a chunk of housing missing and a couple cracks.

Even though your damage will be paid for, you’re right, it’s still a big nuisance. If you see the guy again at some time, definitely point at him and say “ah ha ha ha ha… fleeing… ha ha ha ha… in a… ha ha ha… Sable!!!.. ha ha ha ha”

28 must be the hot spot for hit and runs this week. a guy a work with got rear-ended on wednesday coming home from work… knocked him out into traffic and a bus was coming so he went north and pulled over. the chick who hit him paused and went 28 south.
