I just turned on the heat for the first time this year. I waited as long as I could.
^Maybe being so big you just radiate heat off of your huge self and the house stays warm that way… maybe.^
I turned my heat on about a week before Halloween. But I have it programmed to stay on 57 until 6PM, then goes up to 62 until 11PM, then back down to 57. No need for heat when I am sleeping or at work.
I found a great alternative to turning on the heat and saving some $ on bills.

I have all my windows open right now because I am in the middle of painting. My house is a balmy 55 degrees.
i was the same way with my heat last year, realized i was freezing all the time, so set the temps to 61/67 and saw my bill go up less than 10-20 a month. definitely worth it to me to not be freezing all the time. 62 is fucking cold.

woke up this morning and my house was 52 degrees. FUCK that. turned the heat on. i was freeeeeezing. still have to insulate the windows though so it better not snow more before i do this.

It’s WAY too early to fire the furnace up. I don’t even pay for heat and mine’s not on.

Not yet, but I did clean the electronic filter last night thinking I might need the furnace this week. Tonight I’ll pull each of the burners out and give the furnace it’s yearly cleaning and close off the central air dampers so the heat will be ready to go with a flick of the switch.
Dropped all the storm windows down Monday morning and the house has been holding between 69-72 just from using the oven for meals at night. 68 when I woke up this morning.
newborn baby in the house kind of didn’t have a choice. Normally i’ll make the wife suffer into december.
Bought my 2.5 year old slippers.

Mine’s not on… plus I have 1/3 of the duct work torn apart so I really couldn’t turn it on if I wanted too… LOL!!!
Eh, I’ve got the fireplace if I get cold, but my place is staying pretty steady.
