Hot Rod’s Drag Week has ‘street’ cars that run low 7’s/high 6’s and then the racers drive them for 1500 miles between 5 different tracks. I’ll bet most would say they are not street driven. If a 7 second car can be driven thru traffic, on a highway, with legal state inspection & plates, without overheating or breaking down constantly, it is a street car. Just because a person thinks it should have A/C or Power steering vs. somebody else wanting a 10pt cage in their street car doesn’t mean that a car can’t be street driven.
2 years ago Steve Roth drove Denny Terzich’s '68 blown Camaro to low 7s in the 1/4 & still had no trouble driving between venues. Obnoxious, yes, but it was street driven. I saw it more on the street then I did at the track.
I think some on here are confused between the definition of a street car and the ‘streetability’ of a street/race car.
