who said 12bolts are unbreakable

today todd did a nice burnout, actually two them on the second one he DESTROYED the rear end. everything is done it in. gears are broke, pinion is shot, carrier is chewed up from the pinion. shrapnel everywhere. car had to be moved with a jack.

spun nicely had some hop[shouldnt have hop with hogkiss suspension] then all of sudden bang! clank, clunk, clunk, dunk. then the car came to a hault. fluid came pooring out.

car sounded like an old batman movie. also with all that shit that happend his pipes came undone from the headers

like they say if you going ot do something you might as well do it in right

:bsflag: :bsflag: :bsflag: :bsflag:

we pushed it in the garage

:bsflag: him, mac and paulie pushed it well i steered it. it was orginally in the middle of alley.

:bsflag::bsflag:

you werent there when we pushed it in the garage

your right for the first time. but i was there when he broke it and was there when we moved it and took the cover off

i think the rear was fucked when he got it

it may of been. that was the 3 time he felt shudder then bang on that time

if you look at hte tire marks the right tire was hopping as he pulled away adn the left was smooth marks no interuptions. im thinking hte pinion angle was off

i saw the marks…i think the rear was bad…he shouldnt of done a burn out on DR till he tested the rear more

A few members of my club have broke 12 bolts. In general the differential is the weak link… but once it goes it scraps the rest of the rearend. :frowning:

Typically the right side of the axle will want to lift (letting the right axle spin and cause axle hop) in an oposite reaction to the pinion rotation. Pinion angle could have been part of the problem. What kind of car?

thats why most fbody guys get MOSER

it was a 72 chevelle, i understand the twisting but he had the full hogkiss setup

he wasnt on teh DRs. jsut a ordianary set of firestones that were shot anyways

:gives:
