I need someone to cut off the old flange on my intake manifold and weld on a new one. Can anyone on here do this, and how much would that run me. The manifold is Aluminum.
ANYONE? JJ’s? Hybrid? any other shop?
not Aluminum.
sucks to be me i guess, can anyone else weld aluminum?
south hills cycle welds it i think
Theres a place on Washington Blvd down a little bit from the u-haul, on the other side of the road though, that welds aluminum… its on the same side as the police training and fire training center, just further away from the highland park bridge.
hmmm my guess is to find a machine show, they might have one… theres one under exotic car audio on rt 51 towards elisabeth on the left side before pepboys
I can TIG aluminum but I can’t promise how long it will take. I’m exremely busy right now. Are you in a big hurry?
Edit: I would also need to know the thickness of both pieces and the alloy composition. I would assume T6- 6061 series, but it’s nice to know for sure.
one of mr freinds welded my ITB’s on my honda…my mani was cast and the pipes where machined, i will thow up his # later on tonight he is from ginger hill welding
ITB setup… damn much much time and money that cost? guess your goin all motor then
This is the flange i need welded on to the mani.
And i need the flange on the “HO Style” manifold cut off and the other one welded on. How much would this run me? And im not in that much of a hurry to have it done, but i have it on my car, so when i would get it done it would have to be done in a timley manner.
just port urs!
You can port it 100% to match like the flange would. You have to make the b-shape, then add weld to the bottom to make like a step. and that still isnt 100%, so the flange is the best option.
o
thats a good bit of tig welding might cost some loot
Yea thats what i was afraid of, theres another flange i can get that is like a spacer, but im trying to track them down since theres a hand full left.
cant you just switch manifolds
Thats what i did, i had my stock manifold on and then i put this manifold on off a 1990 GTZ with the HO 2.3L quad4 so i just need to match up the ports better. But for the time being its a nice mod, car is alittle quicker sounds like a v6 or v8 at times and even seems to make the car run smoother.
