That’s what I was thinking too.
There is a base out past Rochester with Cobras, and sometimes they fly to NFAB and do refueling excersises.
You realize of course, that this means the zombie apocolypse has begun.
I dont know of any other aircraft that have the equivalent of a tank cannon on board.
Spectre Gunship
One 105mm Howitzer
One 40mm Bofors Cannon
Two 20mm Vulcan Cannons
ac130 wins

Just looked at Google and found some images…
That is DEFINITELY what they were.
Looked identical from the bottom.
“Power Plant:
Two General Electric T700-GE-401 Turboshaft engines
Each engine delivers 1,690 horsepower.”
Sooooooooooooooooooooo powerful.

I see these fly over my hunting camp in Chautauqua county all the time. They make a ton of noise if they are flying low. Not sure where they are comming from or going to.
AH-1s are one of my all time faves. Talk about a return on investment: The airframe has been in service now for over 45 years IIRC. My pop’s buddy flew them in 'Nam. And the Spectre is nasty. Google video has some footage.
