Why gas prices are so high

Because these fucking assholes need to be shot

OMG…that is lame…So in theory gas should be like 5 cents a gallon and their CEOs should make 20k a year

grR. that pisses me off…
i hate money hungry people like that…not everyone can afford to pay more for gas and theres nothing we can do because its a necessity and there is no mass transit around buffalo that is sufficient or goes everywhere…

if gas suddenly dropped down to 5 cents, there would be outages 10 minutes later. and :fu: to the fuckers that would ruin it for everyone else.

Wow that is friggin’ weak.

guys… thats saying that ~10% of their revenue is profit. Thats not that outlandish for any type of business. Cappelli’s pizzeria has a 12-14% profit margin.

Yeah but Cappellis pizza doesnt have tons of gov’t and lobby connections so that they can do whatever they like with the prices.

And its not like the actual stations are making $…they only get about 4 cents per gallon, so the corporate entity is getting wealthy and not doing anything to aid in making the fuel burn cleaner or anything, but stifle growth and other forms of energy being introduced based on their stranglehold of the economy. Now does Capellis have all that going on

Haha, no, I absolutely agree, but I wanted to make the point that a 10% profit margin isnt reall that unbelieveable. These companies are rediculiously large and powerful, and I dont think that they should continue to operate in the manner that they have been uo to this point.

:word: I mean they have to be successful and make a profit and all that, but by no means will I ever say they need to make the substantial profits they do.

Where are you getting 10%?

$36billion on $100billion in sales is 36%.

you read it wrong. the make 100 billion in revenue A QUARTER, and 36 billion A YEAR. Its more like 9.5% profit then.

"fourth-quarter revenue jumped to $99.66 billion "

"profit for the year to a staggering $36.13 billion "

Damn, wish I could be an asshole and make tons of money. :frowning:

I need to read slower.

 Haha I understand. $36billion is still a SHIT TON of money for 1 year of work though.

It’s a free market economy, don’t like it? Move. Whiney bitches.

Love it or leave…but by all means DON’T EVER try to change it

[left]tell you what boy…you all sound like a bunch of queers…I work hard for my fuel! it’s the american way…Boy the harder they make me work, the harder I work…im a man, a man man man

Join the Army! I can get you in touch with my recruiter ASAP.

gotta agree here… thats just the way it is. Don’t like it? then dont buy any goods that use it (petrol)

They (oil companies) have the world by the balls and nothing is going to change that unless we find some kind of oil substitute. Then that industry will have the world by the balls lol (or it’s proven that oil really is much more abundant than origionally thought)

I am more worried about the economy and how energy costs affect it.
I can’t remember the last time I paid for fuel myself.

I would join the army, but Bush knows hes gotta save me until he really needs someone to go over there and do some serious ass whoopin’ …and I got me a bum knee
