For rentals the 189 a window is probably fine. But 90% of people buy windows to better their efficiency of their home. Without argon or Low-e coating, one might as well leave the originals in if they aren’t broken IMO. Also, trim makes a big difference in maintenance and curb appeal for most homes.
I got 3 quotes for similar quality windows (whole home replacement) and Alex was able to do two custom doors for me for the same price that the others wanted for just the windows
I got suckered in on the Breymiller sales call. I signed up to win a “house full of windows,” at BJ’s, and I won 3rd place which gave me a nice 25% off. I told them no thanks, since I know Jeller and buy my good windows through him, but they insisted they could give me a good price and I did, after all, win 3rd place. I knew it was BS, but I told the guy to come by on my lunch break. Those idiots wanted to charge me $1,800 for 1 double casement window, or approximately $25,000 for my whole house. I told him to GTFO.
I have bought all of my cheap windows for my rentals through Window Depot/Americas Windows, and have always paid $259 per window. Always there on time, quality work and that included the removal, install, insulation, and aluminum trim. No complaints from those guys. Although, I wouldn’t use them for my house.
