I’ll make shhhure I check all that shtuff guisth
Time for new pads and rotors kiiid.
My Z24 did the same thing when the front brakes were shot.
How the hell does hard set, suspension settings magicly change location to location??
Shaking the wheel doens show for sure a wheel bearing is shot. They are such a tight tolerance item, if they are bad enough to make noise, pull the car one way or another, they can be warn just enough that you will never feel it in hand, yet the wheel being 25+" in dia, puts the tread 12+ inches away from the bearing, so every mm. the bearing could slop would yield 12+mms of movement. If you lift the car off the ground and can shake the wheel, it would be death to drive on the road!
check the dust shield like he said, look for any slightly polished edges on its rusty surface, if it hit something rotational it would clean the rust off it. if you see something like that yank it away a bit.
If the caliper sliders are frozen you would eat one pad wayyy more than the other. you should be able to mount the caliper on the car without the rotor and slide it side to side without much effort. if it doenst replace them.
Bent wheel wouldnt make those noises, but could cause the pull, vibrations, and if it is out of balance enough will kill a wheel bearing over time.
hondas and rear calipers. they dont get along well all the time.
All done. Did pads on both back sides and the back right rotor. The rotor and hub assembly were rusted together, but that came off with use of a makeshift puller (2 clamps and a flat piece of sheet metal on the studs, clamped the metal to the back of the rotor and tightened until it broke free). All in all, not too bad of a job, a bit more than I was expecting, but not too bad. The noise is completely gone, so I’m confident problem was solved. Also, the caliper wasn’t seized thankfully, one less thing to replace.
great way to bend a hub flange , if ya have no clue on what your doin ya can spend a lot of money in a hurry and not get anywhere
It sure is, if you do it wrong. I made sure I didn’t.
I usually just kick the rotors off with my boot. But whatever works for you :lol
Yup, free and necessary :lol
