Wierd Clunking Noise in Rear, Acura CL

I would throw this up on AcuraZine, but the CL section is so dead and inactive its not worth it.
This started 2 days ago. I have a loud metal scraping sound in my right rear wheel well. When driving in a strait line and decelerating, this only happens when driving under 5 mph or so. When accelerating, the sound is heard up to 15-20mph. The car pulls left when driving at increased speeds. When turning left, the sound is heard, but is not heard when turning right. I have noticeably bad camber in my rear wheels. I think this may be the weight of the subs, but they have only been in for a week or so. My rear right wheel shows signs of being bent, it eats through tires or isn’t sealing right somewhere.

My Ideas:

  1. Pull subs out, see if issue goes away
  2. Put steelie on and drive a bit, see if issue goes away.
  3. Get alignment.

Anyone else want to add any ideas? I’m new to Hondas/Acuras, and have not worked on this car nearly enough to get to know it like I did the Olds. Any input is appreciated, thanks all.

Wheel bearing. Whats the mileage on the car?

Or brakes. Is it disc?

Car has 125K on it and has disk brakes all around. I’ll add the “wiggle the wheel” test to my check list tomorrow.

Yeah check the bearing, thats my first guess.

sway bar end links

and a horrible alignment.

and a bad wheel.

and a a bad control arm bushing or 7.

and a bad driver

and a spiteful cod player

THIS or maybe brakes. If you want to bring it by my place I will have a look at it for you.

dead cat

sounds junk to me

Must be those subwoffers

It is the dust plate behind your rotor. Somehow it got bent and is rubbing against the rotor.

I know because this exact same thing has happened to me. The sound even diminished for me when turning a certain direction, and went away when I got up to speed.

Check the dust plate behind the rotor. Bend it back away from the rotor and then try again. Of course, if you car is pulling in a certain direction, this would not cause that and is a seperate issue.

So then it is NOT the dust plate. :hijacked

Issues/Resolved Issues:
Camber issue went away once I left my parking lot…shitty lot.
Shook the wheel, didn’t move enough for it to be a bearing.
Took the wheel off, noticed a HUGE gash in my rotor. Looked at my pads, they’re shot. So those are getting replaced tomorrow.

Only question I have is about the sound, its audible at all speeds (had a passenger ride in with me before any physical diagnosis). Is it possible my caliper is seized/stuck?

Thanks for the input all, and Wayne I’ll keep you in mind for future if I have anything serious :thumbup

Could be wheel bearing

100% positive its the muffler bearings.
