Will going down .1" exhaust piping diameter....cause bottlenecking?

no it wont

3" into a magnaflow would be a better exhaust note

for the motor/turbo setup you said you were going to go with you would def need 3inch mani-back…
or was that :bsflag: u were telling me?

I think he just wanted someone to say it was ok… and didn’t care about the source. So he could buy what he wanted…

in actually that 13% will probably (with increased pressures, and all that other thermo crap) be around the 6-8% region. Being that its a turbo (beating the dead horse) smaller is gonna restrict the flow, decreasing airflow… Heres a Question… Who thinks this would be enough difference to have to goof up the A/F ratio (not turbo person, so idk how crucial this is). with the pressure in the exhaust slowing the turbo down slightly and getting less air in the motor, and flooding the motor (yes i know its not gonna flood the motor, but you know what i’m talking about). Maybe even a RETUNE! Of course thats all exagerated to prove a point… and the difference probably wont be noticeable. But Hey its His money let him use it his way

anyway… from a scientific stand point, I go with a thumbs down to the smaller exhaust cause the .14 difference DOES make a difference

probably

i think it should be all 3" as well if hes going bigger turbo…and ish…but again let him do what he wants…

he asked a question, and got a bunch of wrong answers.

yes he will lose power, and a why was even given.

I didn’t read the thread.

But you could potentially gain power. There’s not enough info in the thread to make a blanket statement like that.

Things like exhaust design, bends, muffler choice, coatings, connections, etc, all will have an effect. Not to mention that who is to say 2.5" was the optimal diameter to begin with?

Turdblows love free flowing exhausts, put on an open dump if you’re that concerned.

Cliffs : Don’t worry about it.

beck, what about the sleeved k20 with the gt35r turbo you’re doin??

when you’re pushin quadruple digit hp you dont want 60mm exhaust

+1 for going with a 3" Turboback… You’d be stupid not to.

fuck it just mod the stock exhaust back on

3" + burns muffler = the winnar

kteller.com for the prebends…(i don’t know if they rock D series)

I’m not doing bigger turbo and injectors, until after summer…and thats if i even decide to keep the car.

and obviously if i do a motor swap, and bigger turbo i will do a 3" turbo back exhaust.

but if i can get a free, better built/better sounding/better looking exhaust, thats .1" smaller…just for the rest of the summer… i will.

its not going to make a huge difference on a 14b turbo, with a 2.5" downpipe, on a sohc motor. its not like i have a 40R, running 30 pounds.

thats what I had on my old civic:cry: Its sound sweet until I went all motor

greg needs to cut off the reverse cone and goto a 3" exhaust

^ for what going wot once a week?

mike has a suprise in store for him when he stores it over winter

3" on a T25 yielded mo-horsepower. Trust me, go 3" and stop being like your attire…

oh go hit another escort.

:stuck_out_tongue:

and don’t worry, i didn’t go the exhaust route, in free parts.

I got a few other items
