This is serious sailing, makes my boat look like a barge dragging it’s anchor.

You can buy a Laser for around $1500 and do this…

My boat on the other hand, is a little more serene…
pretty cool, so are those some sort of race boats? Saw a ton of boats on the lake this afternoon, very windy but it didn’t look too choppy.

Yeah, these guys are pros. I wasn’t out today Family stuff.
There was, and still is, a small craft advisory out for Erie and Ontario. So hopefully the guys out there know what they’re doing, at least better than this idiot.

Erie can get real nasty around the harbor entrance when the waves start bouncing off the various breakwalls.
Between horseshoe reef, bird island reef, and middle reefs I usually end up towing some idiot to shore who’s run aground. Last year a guy was so wedged into bird island reef all we could do was call the coast guard, and when they showed up they didn’t know how to get to him either. They called a tow company but I didn’t stick around to see what their opinion was.
Charts > guessing

This one will cover pretty much anywhere you’re likely to go in a personal boat launching from around Buffalo.

I got the charts, GPS, radio, all that good stuff. No way I would venture outside the breakwall today, I would just rip up and down the harbor with the main up alone. My jib (genoa actually)would have stayed furled…Or not installed at all, as it got damaged on lake Couchiching the same day that sailboat was blown against the rocks.
Here some more of these crazy trimarans, maybe this can be the “official sailing thread?”
sailing is like sex to those people…
Those boats are insane, didnt know there were any other sailboaters here. u ever race on the wed nights for BHSC emkay??

nah, not experienced enough to try racing, I do that on pavement. Sailing is more relaxation for me.
