Anyone building anything this winter? What are you working on?
Still continuing my vintage motorcycle endless money pit, sigh.
Two four wheelers
One dirt bike
Two harleys
One crotch rocket
One lawnmower
06 trx450er TT build, 09 renegade big bore rebuild, tune, clutch tuning, 05 kfx 250 motor locked up, 06 crf250 no start, 07 ltr450 xc build, 2 Harleys, and my 67 f10
I am going to try and start building my 1940 harley, but that’s going to be slow going for sure.
I plan to work on working more hours to afford rebuilding the engine in my buick, probably get heads and intake ported, maybe cam, maybe forged rotating assembly.
Also debating on building the 200r4 or going with a TH400, bigger stall. Could also go with meth and bigger turbo.
The gto, needs just a lot of maintenance, change fluids, bushings, fix the leaks, and get the suspension sorted. If i have money left over, at least do headers. Also bumper…maybe rims.
317s and LSA supercharger for the nova.
Got a few little things to do too.
Engine mounts/header wrap/seats yada
saving car insurance
317 heads? are you getting a custom adapter for the lsa blower? Why not run ls3 style heads?
ODB2 wiring harness and ECU swap in the 3800 S/C cavy with the new engine. Hope to have that done soon and get her on the dyno for some 500+ hp numbers.
LSx swapped E36 M3
Cam and heads on the Viper.
Finish up some nitrous work on the vette. Make 900+whp lol
Figure I will re-insulate my finished basement and add some electric baseboard heaters.
Got adapter plates. 3.9 bore still.
I’ve got shitty 98 806 heads so I’ll drop the compression a touch and pick up some flow swapping heads.
Maybe when it dies I’ll go 6.0
Insulating portions of the basement/crawl space.
Rebuild and tune up my bench top drill press and table saws
Build some shop storage for some tools
Tweaking and cleaning the old CB450 and putting it up for sale here in the coming weeks. :tear:
Tuning and cleaning some things up on my Camaro after the 5.3/boost project last winter. Maybe actually drive it at some point between snow falls.
Still didn’t get it fixed? The Rx7 stayed local, FYI.
It’s been up and running since summer, drove it about 3/4 of a mile so far haha. Just need to get a tune on it, then would like to clean it up a bit. Might keep it, might sell it.
I wanted that RX7, but glad I didn’t buy it. Ended up buying a cottage that has occupied nearly all of my free time since early August. I would have had 3 projects laying around in my garage.
are you saving money on car insurance too?
Why didn’t you just tune it your self?
It’s pretty straight forward with a wideband/speed density tune a lot of sloppy mechanic base tunes and realistically 12-14 degrees of peak timing there isn’t a lot to go wrong on 93 if you’re in the 500-550rwhp range.
I started with a sloppy tune from a 4.8, got it up and running with that. I will continue tuning it myself. I’ve never done it, but I’ve been following the book and learning as I go. Worst case is I pop the engine and start over.
Unless you do something really stupid you will be fine.
