wiring boost gauge: where is the best for wiring?

Where is the best place to tap into my wiring for my Autometer electronic boost gauge?

I need to wire in three places: ground (black), white (+12V dash illumination) and red (+12V ignition source).

I have a 91 180SX with SR20DET. I’ve pulled all the dash panels off so I can get at the fuse box and under dash wiring, but I’m now lost.

I have a FET Turbo Timer already wired in, but I have no idea what it’s 6 wires do.

I’m also having trouble sourcing a 1 amp 3AG quickblow fuse like they recommend, here in Calgary.

Can anybody help me out?

Update: I have everything wired, but the meter is not self-calibrating. According to the instructions, this means I have not found a circuit that provides +12V during cranking. Anybody know the best place to find this under the dash? There is a harness connector that looks like it is going to the ignition switch but I’m not sure which wire to splice into.

That might help in finding a wire for ignition

Thanks Pokey. I think that helped a lot. I already have a turbo timer installed and I think I’ve found the right wire with a multimeter.

Does anybody know where I can get those hand wire splices in town? Partsource down the street doesn’t have…

Also, does anybody know where I can get inline fuses without paying $5+ at Partsource?

The source (cicuit city) has them. About $3 for the fuse holder and $2 for a few fuses last time i checked.

Thanks for all your help guys. I ended up finding loom and wiring accessories galore for cheap at princess auto. Autovalue had a cheaper but just as good inline fuse holder and a crapload of these clip-on harness splice connectors I have been looking all over for.

I really didn’t think The Source would carry stuff like that at decent prices. Good tip!
