I have had this engine running for about a year now, but never posted any details. I know there are a lot of ideas and questions about the RB30…
I am pulling the engine out this week to clean it up and redo some lines.
I can tell you that the RB30 route was all worth it. Spool-up is very quick and power delivery is awesome. I like the twin setup better than the larger single turbo. Here are a few specs.
And, yes, this is an RB26 twin turbo kit on a RB25 head.
3.1 L Rb30
Twin HKS GTRS
740cc Nismo injectors
Aussie Rods and Wiseco Pistons
AEM
Exedy twin plate clutch
Made 380WHP and 390 Tq at 9 lbs of boost
Made 545 WHP and 550 tq at 20 lbs on 94 octane
Full boost under 4000 rpm.
+1 on the twin setup, one big turbo is cool and all but unless you’re ripping it on the highway, i’d rather get full boost by 4000rpm
this thing is a beast, you get a lot of problems getting it running properly?
Runs alike a champ. Needs an AEM tune for high boost, but idles like it was driven from the facory. You can’t even tell the engine is runinng. I am very happy with the twin setup. A friend is running a single… To tall too big and too lagy.
That’s a pretty sweet set-up, with a tonn-load of horsepower. good build.
super nice man. Rb30 swaps are a rare breed
I’m down here in Brisbane for the next few months and I was thinking about picking up a block just to bring back…what kind of ball park would you allow if you were to look at this swap into say a 13? I mean a really rough estimate (assuming all someone had was the block)
I picked up the block from Aus about 2 years ago for $800 delivered. Hope this helps.
uggghhhh i just sppoooggeeedd a lil.
rb’s 4 life!
keep up with the progress!
