so my bro and i did a redtop swap into my 91, everything went over, for the most part smoothly. untill we tried to start… so we have crank, fuel and zero spark. Any suggestions on what i should do??
thanks

oups, wrong thread, but w.e. i do need some advice though.
i would start by checking if there is power going to the coil.
Anyone in orillia that would be willing to come take a look. I think it might be my coils, thought they were fine but cant figure out any other reason ecept maybe a bad ecu. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

should my coils be grounded individually also, and is there anything else “coil” related that should be grounded?
- There is a ground plug at the back of the coilpack harness that bolts onto the back of the valve cover… make sure that’s bolted down.
- Is your ignitor/ignition module/ignitor chip plugged in and functioning? Test for power in and out of it. It should be located near the intake manifold.
- Check your wiring behind the fuse box behind the right headlight.
- Are you getting no spark on any cylinders? You can check each coil individually by removing it from the motor, and plugging the harness in with the spark plug in the end of the coil. Ground the head of the plug on the valve cover and crank it over. Just don’t lean on the car while you’re doing it.
I’ve got more if those don’t work. Good luck!
The plug was bolted down to the back of the valve cover. The module is plugged in but i dont have a test light, so i have to wait for my brother to get off work so i can use his. I wasnt sure what i was checking for with the wires behind the fuse box, so i checked for cut, disconnected or loose wires but they all seemed to be good. An i also checked each coild individually, and none of them had spark (I’ve checked them befor and they didnt have spark last time either). So what are some of your othe suggestion? And thank you!
p.s. I didnt lean on the car, lol

I PM’d you. I can send you some diagrams and wiring that may help you. You pretty much need a multimeter or even just a test light to find the source of this problem if it isn’t simply a broken or mis-connected wire.
