it depends.

if the kitchen fucks up my food, and the waitress goes, “i’m sorry, let me get you a new one,” i don’t hold it against her. If, like one waitress did at Eat N Park, she rolls her eyes and gives me a disgusted sigh, i say something like, “get me my check,” and i only pay for what i’ve eaten/drank so far w/ no tip & walk out.

I think anyone would get shitty esp if the waitress did that…At least try to correct the problem. If the waiter/waitress did that and actually showed some intrest in correcting the issue then ok no big deal move on…but not to be a dick to her the rest of the night

yeah… it’s basically how the waitress rolls with kitchen problems. if she’s apologetic about it, or at least lets me know what’s up, i understand and still tip her based on her service. if an hour rolls by without even an, “i’m sorry… we’re a little backed up. can i refill your drink again? <sheepish grin>?” then i’m going to tip badly.

i work for tips too, so i know how it is.

lol… the funny thing is that i’m not a hardass.

right and I agree with shaler. If the sever give you shit its over. But if they are nice and try to remidy it it should not be taken out on them.

The assholes in the kitchen get paid minimum or above.

Servers don’t, they get half of minium wage and have to make the other half up with tips. THATS why there is a proper way to deal with the situation and do things.

If you are a server and get higher than half minimum wage hourly then you are propbably working in a resturant that most assholes like redneck can’t afford.

Tips are not just “extra” money for servers in most cases propertipping makes up their hourly wages…
