He’d prefer some used crap, but he would like 1 person/shop to be 100% responsible for collecting parts, installing parts, and getting it running. Tuning can happen by someone else.
It is a 2001 Civic LX, non vtec, 5spd… umm, that is all I know.
He is looking to spend 5k or so… will he have a reliable, quick car for that much?
He doesn’t know much about these cars at all, which is why I’m on here asking for the work to get done.
I believe he is looking for a basic turbo setup, and beefy driveline components, like clutch, and halfshafts.
HC - This is primarily directed at you. Please get me a quote, or a round-about $$$ amount.
Once he gets an idea of what it is going to cost him, he will throw some money at you.
why does everyone always think you HAVE to switch to return fuel system? its perfectly capable of staying the way it is, you just have to know how to do it.
the stock rods will not handle 300 whp
they are a hair larger than d15 rods and a little smaller than d16 rods.
getting aftermarket rods is also an issue. the d17 used a thinner big end so the d16 rods wont fit (they are the same lenght)
how much is crower charging for those rods? they dont have the price on the site. i looked in to having them do d15b rods and they were going to be like 700-800
Guys, Sorry, I just threw 300 out there for the fuel system discussion.
If it will make 250fwhp, then I will have to run that by the purchaser… if it will make 225… same thing. I don’t care how fast it is or how much it costs, not my car, not my money.
dezod, im sure its doable, but reliabilty becomes an issue at that point. you’re pushing the envelope. a change in temp causing a boost spike a couple times and it will break a rod… and even that is assuming its on a good tune. we all know how people think…
spend money… buy turbo… bolt on… foot to floor
(tuning is never thought of)
anywho, good luck with it jack, tell your friend not to get greddy with it.
