that’s right i need a CLUSTER with a tach they should just plug in, so let me know either here or gimme a pm thanks, and its a 89 4dr w/1.5 sohc mine doesnt have a tach and i want to put one in. thanks
Dash’s don’t have tachs, but gauge clusters have tachometers.
And not all 88-91 Civic/Crx gauge clusters are the same. 88/89 cluster will not work in a 90/91 and vise versa. Not only are they shaped differently, the harness is pinned differently too.
You have an '89, you need a 88/89 cluster.
i didnt think the EF’s came with tach’s? mine doesn’t have one…and neither does 91MR2’s…
The lower trim level (Dx and std. models) 88-91 Civics did not get a cluster with a tach. All Crx’s and the Civic Lx, EX and Si got the cluster with the tach.

real hard to get :gotme: best bet is find a si or swap the dash w/ a interga dash
I have a 2 clusters with tachs. One is from a 91 AWD and the other is from a HF
^ PM scanz89 about the one for the 91, he needs one as well
