My friend used to have a 91 YSR 50cc and drove teh thing everywhere.Most are street legal. I always wanted one but kinda forgot about them. If you know anyone who might have one or have seen one locally please let me know. They look like this

There are some out there but they are becoming rare. They are so small, they are a little bigger than those cheap pocket bikes. They do around 45mph or so. Lots of fun, like riding a street legal pocket bike on public roads.
i dont believe they are street legal mostly… especially in nys…? they are normally pretty expensive too
what about an nsr? or derbi? lots of other options… personally for 2k… look for an sv? or fzr 400? 2 strokes seem like endless maintainence
ysrs are legal in NY i know a kid who used to buzz around all over on his. try ebay. They also sell bodywork kits to upgrader these older looking bikes to the new styles like R1 etc…
these bikes are 100% street legal, i just sold one to someone in georgia we used to ride the bike around, 80cc ones are out of canada… very rare in the states. you can find the 50cc ones on ebay but rarely have titles. suzuki also makes them gsxr50 i just got rid of that to. i sold my 88 ysr80 for 2200 they go for a good buck in good shape.
I just found a 87 YSR in rhode island. I might be driving there this weekend to pick it up. You dont need a title to register them.
So people can get an general idea of the size of these things

Ya i seen that. The one I am looking at is all there but looks like shit. The gut wants $900, im gonn try and talk him down to $300 or $400.
A little beat up but it would be a good project. Like I said I am only gonna offer like 2-400 bucks.

^ Thanks, I have seen way better ones on Craigslist for cheaper. I have one lined up in Pitts. But the guy works 70 hours a week and is hard to get ahold of. Thanks though.
