ysr50 project

Sorry about putting this in the bikes forum, just figured it would get the right attention here…

I picked up this project last year and haven’t had the time to mess with it, and likely won’t so it’s up for sale. 1987 YSR50. No title, but one can be obtained through International Title service for under $175. (www.its-titles.com)

I bought a new higher performance carb, filter, throttle cable, air filter and chain. All it really needs is a carb manifold (www.teamcalamari.com) Haven’t had it running, but it turns over freely and has compression. I also have a kick starter assembly for it… It’s common for ysr’s to have this assembly removed for racing, saving a bit of weight, etc… New bodywork is also available still here… http://www.ysr50.com/products.php

Seems to be all there, and might be a fun little project to tinker around with. Selling for less than I have into it.

$250 firm…

as it sits

I thought you were the one that made the original post

EDIT: the more i look at this the more i wish i lived in buffalo and had this thing street legal… it would be a blast taking backroads from the heights to mighty, dragging knee on every corner…

too bad theres too much traffic here and 50 cc’s isnt enough to NOT get run over by all the gray hair.

EDIT 2: mmmmmm

hello 70 mph… somebody scoop this.

The handlebars are on the bike (see photo), and all the other running gear is there … I need to double check their condition, but the bike uses standard sized levers, throttle, etc. and are a dime a dozen. I have a box or two of parts that came with it, as well as the stuff I bought for it, etc… Best way to see if it’s something you want to tackle is to come take a look. PM if you’re interested.

lol Willy…
For a little more get up and go, you can always drop in an older yamaha dt175 or 80’s yz80 engine. The engine mounts are IDENTICAL, and it’s actually a pretty common upgrade w/these. Others have installed the Blaster 200cc engine. The only trick is routing the exhaust pipe on the larger engines. Could be fun!

Moved to the proper section.

thanks…

I’ll get some better pics of the bike and parts up soon.

sold for $250… thanks.

… i want one of these… ugh.
