If anyone has a good set of LS1 heads, let me know
we have some bare 20k mile ones, but i am currently using them for mockup. what do you want them for
if your looking for something already worked over, ya, i’d def PM oroc. his are pretty decent and at a good price
here is the info on his heads:
TSP 5.3L stage 2.5 heads, 220cc intake runner, 2.02/1.60 valves, they flow 312cfm, 63cc combustion chambers i believe which gives you 10.75:1 on a stock motor, prc dual valve springs, titanium retainers, yada yada.
Well i have full bolt on’s and a 231/237 112lsa cam… i got a bit of cash from selling my old pickup truck, i want a nice set of heads for the trans am, but without breaking the bank if thats possible
What are you looking for? We have a lot around, the shop, what I can think of right now. Some older ported 5.3s with nice manley valves. Probally sell less then the valves cost. A few sets probally over 5, of low (10-30k) miles LS2 243s, some LS6 243s. I think we have a set of new unused 215 ETs, and 255/LS7 standard bolt, I think might not have a plane for. Lots of other your probably not intrusted in? Maybe a 241 we sets of them, looking for a upgrade or just spare/mockup. flycut set or somthing?
well i was considering buying some Patriot ported LS6 heads, first i wanted the AFR 205’s but i cant really afford them. I would like to surpass the 450rwhp mark
We have a street sweeper cam grind, and a set of stock valve 243 mike (newera) can port for cheap that will do that, with the mods you have now. Patriots are a good value, they have a sale now. But we also get very good prices on parts from them, We exchange alot of parts with gunner. Also when we have time, have done some in house, shop ported stock casting for a great value. They also make great power, similar to the other “budget CNC ported” GM casting available. Feel free to call tomorrow to talk more, The shop will be closed Thur-Sun for the PRI trade show. Or stop for more info, we have dyno’d 100s of LSx with cam/heads/bolts, so know whats really is a better product. This knowledge is used to benefit shop work.

That is going to be very hard to do without a very good cylinder head. If you want to hit that 450 rwhp mark I would suggest you look at either an AFR or Trickflow head

AFRs are all about velocity & torque and they always have been. Find me another cylinder head that makes 425+ hp at the rear wheels with a small 224°/228° camshaft and still has excellent street manners and lots of torque everywhere

This is some info on both, with a example NewEra has done those goals are not hard to get, With good heads Like JnJ says. We like using ET cylinder heads. They make the most power of any head, with many benifits over others casting.
Stock shortblock, stock compresion. GM head gaskets gaskets, No piston flycut. Untouched form box ET 215 heads. Our Street SweeperHT cam 228*/232* Ported stock TB/fast78. Car makes 456whp 421wtq, thu cats, and a borla catback tuned by Mike. This is a smaller cam we use for better low end toque, the the customer is a older guy and the car has to retain stockish street manners.
