I had a ninja 250 as my first bike, sold it to a member on here. I dont remember it having alot of dive. It was a nice bike, really easy to learn on and you can pick them up pretty cheap. Good luck with the search.
There is a 93zx6e on craigslist that i thought was my old bike but its not(i hope lol). Needs a bit of work but from the looks of it its a cheap fix. Tell him to buy it. Its a good starter bike plus it has potential to be an awesome sleeper with the right rider. Also if he feels inclined to it he can stroke the motor to a 636.Dont even get me started on the suspension stuff you can do to it.
He has no inclination to fix much.
The one I rode had really soft front suspension. It was probably normal, but not at
all like the stiffer front end I have on my FZR.
He wants a bike to ride for a year or so that will not break the bank.
The one from the news has no title
There was another he looked into from Akron or something.
It was green with white flame things and a white seat cover.
It pretty much has to be close to the Tonawanda area as I have to go look at them with him
and I little to no “spare” time these days.
I seriously suggest you reconsider a 250. Get an older 500 or 600 to start off. I know a girl who was 5’ and weighed less than 100 lbs and sold her 250 becuase the thing was so slow. I took it for a ride and almost got killed trying to merge onto the highway.
He is fully aware of the limited entertainment lifespan of a 250.
He wants to learn how to ride before actually riding fast.
If a 600 in the 2k price range comes up, then we would surely look at it.
He has not eliminated the possibility, but the price range means he will find a bike in need of some repair.
There is a 96 FZR600 on craigslist but it needs work.
And, its nowhere near here (tonawanda)
I rode the 250, and it was slow. Nice, controllable and predictably slow…
He might actually get a better bike next year if his “wife can learn too”
