Try and find a 60gig since it has the hardware PS2 emulation (i.e. Emotion Engine chipset) which will let you play the highest amount of PS2 games.
i thought there was only 40 and 80. where cab you find the 60?
Used like Ebay or Craigslist.
Would you reccomend buying a used unit?
why a 60 over a 40 or 80? will i really need much more then 40?
The 40 has no PS2 backward compatibility and even less front USB ports (2 IIRC).
The 80 has some PS2 backward compatibility
The 60 has the most PS2/PS1 backward compatibility because there is PS2 hardware inside the PS3 where as the 80 uses software emulation for it.
so a 60gb i can play all ps1 and ps2 games and it has all the same features as the 40gb and 80gb? i was told that the 40gb plays ps2 games
the 40gb does NOT pay ps2 games.

well if a 80gb only plays a few ps2 and a t60gb plays everything, i guess id be looking for a 60gb unless the 80 was a crazy deal and in really really good condition.
