wtb: sway bar link 2g dsm

I know its a long shot but b4 i hit up a dealer, does anyone have a frt rt swaybay link layin around. i am putting in a new halfshaft and could not get the right side swaybar link off(had to pull out the saws-all) and now need a new. i see that it like $30 at the dealer. just wondering if anyone had one collecting dust… pm me if you can help. thanks

For future axle jobs: Remove the axle nut, then disconnect the upper ball joint and pull down on the spindle. You will also need to remove any brackets for brake lines or abs to gain enough distance. After that pull the axle out of the spindle and then remove the axle from the tranny.

This is the way I have always done it for 2g’s and have never had to remove the swaybar link.

As for where to pick one up…we could get you one from the dealer, or you could try skrappar at Kenwood napa.

thats what i did, prob is getting the axel past the strut fork.

Sorry…Revised:

  1. Remove wheel.
  2. Remove the axle nut.
    3. Remove 17mm bolt and nut from strut fork to lower control arm.
  3. Remove any brackets for brake lines or abs.
  4. Remove brake caliper and hang off to the side(brake hose still attached).
  5. Disconnect the upper ball joint and pull down on the spindle.
  6. While pulling down on the spindle slide the axle out of the hub.
  7. After the axle is out of the spindle push it towards the front of the vehicle.
    9. Snake the axle down and through the opening in the strut fork.
  8. Pry between the axle and transmission to free the axle.
  9. Remove axle
  10. Reverse for installation.
