So after stopping by the local NTB on Mcknight road they were quite helpful in letting me remove my body kit for tomorrows alignment. I just ruined a swaybar endlink the other day putting on the coilovers. Does this need to be replaced before an alignment or will it alter the outcome of the alignment? I am paing like $75 for the alignment so I want it to go good the first time. Thanks -Jack
P.S. If I remember correctly then the car is sitting there isn’t much load on the sway bar endlink? This is a rear sway bar.
I don’t even understand how the hell they align a lowered car. When they put it on the lift don’t they lift it off the wheels? how do the compensate for the drop?
i hope you have a camber kit. if not you are just tossing your money and tires in the trash as only toe can be adjusted. for that kind of money you better be getting a hell of an alignment. maybe they are charging you more knowing that to properly align your vehicle (being lowered) it will take more time. anyways for 75 bones you better not be getting the toe and go or green is good shit. good luck anyways.
i work for ntb and it is 75 dollars but you get 2 alignments for that price cause it is a 6 month 6k mile package so take it back before you hit either one and you get it done twice and for the person who said they got one done for 25 bucks i bet all they adjusted was toe and not camber
damn, my car is only dropped like 1.75" and my front camber was way off. haha, i was actually lookin at your car as i pulled out of that upper lot the one day and was wondering if you were going to drop that thing. i’m sure it’ll look a lot better once its been lowered a little.
as for your question, the swaybar endlinks should not make a difference when it comes to an alignment. and like someone else said, if you dont have a camber kit, you’re kinda throwin your money away. i know on my car camber is not adjustable so w/o a kit, i would be SOL.
as far as ntb goes, they were nice people and offered to align my car. i specifically told them i had a camber kit on the front and they ignored it. when they were finished with the “alignment”, everything had been fixed but the front camber. when i asked him why it hadn’t been fixed, i was told they didn’t want to deal w/ an adjustable camber kit. the guy was nice and just handed over the sheet and didn’t make me pay. the back wheels are set correctly so i eyeballed/leveled the front wheels to make them match the back so it should be all good for now. point being…just make sure the people doing the alignment realize they are going to have to adjust the camber kit.
Got it aligned for $110 for a 3 year unlimited alignment. Guys were super nice about it being lowered and let me pull the kit off there. Its about 2" drop and all factory specs are in par. Its almost like honda’s were made to be modified
Repair/replace the endlink before you take it in to get aligned. Even at rest, the swaybar will place a torsional load on the suspension. Not alot, but some. You should be able to get end links at any auto parts store.
A 4-wheel alignment rack has two ramps for your wheels and an open center to provide access under the car and the car is supporting it’s weight through the suspension and tires. There should be no “compensation” in the equipment for the lowered status, but lower will increase negative camber so chances are you will have excessive camber to start.
Wow you must not know much. You can only adjust Toe on an accord Inless you have a aftermarket camber kit. 90% of newer cars only have toe adjustments.
