People that have over 327gb of music are retarded and have no taste so they just download everything on the web.
J/K I’ll probably take you up on that offer. Let me find a 1tb drive laying around here and count me in. I’d love to be a designated offsite backup location.
You wouldn’t be the first person, and it’s actually helped me out once. My collection includes everything from Opera, Jazz, Brutal Death Metal, Rock, etc. I always tend to get entire artist discographies, and always try to get Lossless albums and convert them to 320 CBR mp3s. :> END threadjack
Do you have anything by Austrian Death Machine? “Brutal” reminded me of the album “Total Brutal.”
I don’t believe so, but I’m sure I’ve got stuff that sounds similar.

I’m not a music snob, but generally find people who listen to bands like disturbed, linkin park, staind, etc. to be uninteresting to me. Not a rule, just an observation.
I feel similarly about people who like country music, although those people range from uninteresting to conflicting.
These are all passive feelings. I usually have an active “annoyed” feeling when someone says they’re into Hardcore and say they like bands like The devil wears prada or other nu-metal bands.
Myself, at least musically, I’m stuck in the late 90’s & early 2000’s. Hot cross, trial, ‘old’ brand new, Saetia, Atari (not the ataris), 9 shocks terror, catharsis. There is a sprinkling of newer stuff, but not much… most of it is electro.
Psh. I listen to bands so underground they aren’t even called “bands” yet.
Agreed. Most of these people are generally very narrow minded when it comes to music. They are stuck on 103.3 The Edge (the most garbage station around Buffalo btw), and have no concept of music other than radio friendly, cookie cutter bands. I think people who shun away certain genres and bands are really missing out on some good stuff. I know there are areas I’d originally avoid, but now am fond of. There are also bands I didn’t like upon first listening to them and now I love em. The Mars Volta and A Perfect Circle would fall into that category.
The first statement is telling. You say you “find them” meaning you actually meet and give them a chance as a person, or as you called it being “passive”. There’s nothing wrong with stereotypes and they usually are accurate but to force everyone into a box or category before even meeting them is arrogant and foolish. My biggest pet peeve is probably categories or boxes and how everyone wants to “fit in” somewhere or how some peg another person. If you dress a certain way you’re a “hipster” “wigger” or whatever. I bet I’m almost nothing like someone would think I am based on my tattoos, music choice, car etc… I probably look like a broke, junkie or something. Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. LOL
I do.
Like with Jam, I met you once to buy something off you. You didn’t seem like an asshole to me at all. It was a brief meeting but I tend to trust my judgement and first instinct.
I don’t want to ruin your online persona and rep though and hell maybe you really are a judgmental prick, so we’ll go with that story on here anyhow.
Typically though 99% of ICP fans are people you wouldn’t want to be in the same room with.
Despite being pretty open minded I’m not going to argue on the ICP stereotype. LMAO.
THIS!!!
I think someones taste in music tells SOOOOO much about a person.
I can agree with this… although some people’s taste’s are very complex and ever changing, I know mine are.
My listening is so diverse it’s crazy, What I listen to all depends on my moods, what I’m doing, feeling, etc. Hell, my range includes Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Godsmack, Disturbed, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, Warren Hayes, Aaron Lewis, Tool, David Bowie, NIN, Tea Party, Everlast, Black Crowes, STEMM, Big Delicious, etc etc… My music listening is EXTREMELY diverse, especially compared to the majority of people out there.
Haha, my title fits me well. I’m a huge dick but I’m actually a nice guy for the most part. Certain sub cultures like hipsters, ICP fans or DMB “fans” just bother me. I tend to not associate myself with anyone who falls into that category.
And diverse is ok…
Its narrow thats the problem and people whos tastes never stem further than what the radio plays. Most every person I know who is a fan of Nickleback, Hinder, Kesha Katy Perry, etc, is also a super narrow minded person. Ive deduced that someone who never spends time looking past whats put right in front o them (the radio) wont do that in other aspects of life either. These are the same people who will never join a forum to further their knowledge in a given area, always make opinions based on the view of the first thing they read about a given news story, and tend to exclusively follow out dated (or their parents) points of views on things (still referring to Hondas as “Jap Junk” because their grandfather who worked at GM a billion years ago calls them that).
Even after GM raped their grandfathers pension and/or stock holdings in the bankruptcy.
Moto…I forgot about DMB. Add that to the list with ICP where I won’t be arguing for their fans. LOL
Side note on the Nickelback thing… their A-side/radio-played stuff I can COMPLETELY agree with. But they’ve got some pretty decent B-side stuff that never gets radio time; both old and newer. IE: Side of a Bullet. But at the same time, most is still made for the mass-consumption of over-produced/edited/etc music.
Did you hear how Detriot is protesting Nickelback from playing at the Superbowl?
Canadian hacks, no one likes them.
That just Fucking funny!! (and no I didn’t hear that, what’s their reason behind it?)
