I have always wondered how this can happen, where righty is loosey and lefty is tighty, but I never cared too much until today. I had maintenance come over to fix the hot faucet that took too much force to turn on and off. Now the cold is backwards. How do I fix this and why does this happen?
WAT. do you mean like hot is cold and cold is hot? or the valve is flipped backwards causing it to turn opposite? or the handle is just screwed down in the wrong position?
if the valve is flipped-replace it or the whole fixture, thats not right, will eventually start leaking. if the hot is cold and vice versa, yer plumbing is a re-tard.
They just installed the valve 180* off. Easy thing to get wrong. It won’t hurt anything. I did it to my shower once, but I had to fix it after the third time I heard my wife yell and jump out of the shower because she accidentally shut OFF the cold instead of turning it up. :mamoru: “Ouch!!!” glare
You’ve got to shut off the water then take the valve apart and rotate it.
