WTH: Computer Sales Floor Manager

My work is going to be posting this pretty soon. They have been saying they were going to hire someone for a few months now. We need another person here.

I don’t know any more details other than the text below. It’s a UB Foundation job which means good pay and benefits. If I don’t know you, I can’t be a reference to you.

Figured someone out there would have the qualifications for this job. And it’s not that hard of a gig, you get deals on computer stuff, hang out at a college, etc…

Position Summary
Computer store Sales Floor Manager at the University at Buffalo North Campus.

Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of current Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
  • Knowledge of current hardware & peripherals
  • Knowledge of current Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of specialized products (web tools, desktop publishing).
  • Sales & advertising experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Retail inventory control.
    Education and Certifications
    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experiential knowledge.
    An equivalent combination of education, certification and experience will be considered.

Experiential Knowledge
A minimum of three years experience in a similar sales position.

Position Description
The Sales Floor Manager is responsible for providing a quality IT consulting service that assists students, faculty and staff in making an informed decision consistent with campus and industry standards and in acquiring product of good value. Product knowledge and application combined with articulate, informative communication skills is essential.

Hours / Benefits
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays; occasional evenings and weekends for special events.

Nope… But no stress to sell things. Kind of a relaxed sales position.

It’s really 9am-5pm. You have to work M-F 9-5. No students. This is a full time gig.

Nope. They didn’t say. I think they are going to base it on experience too.
And you get medical and dental too.
