if i get an apartment instead of living in Amanda’s mom’s guesthouse, I’m going to need a roommate.

If you (Darkstar) can resist anally raping me in my sleep, you should come out + split a condo w/ me.

Why is it that all the cool Pittspeed members decide to up and take off to Cali?

Although, I wouldnt mind at least coming out to visit for a while and see what its like. I think I might have to stick around the western PA area for a while where the cost of living is so low until I can get edgumacated or whatever, or at least have a nice fat savings account to fall back on. But I certainly cant say thats its not a possibility…

Cali isn’t much more than Pittsburgh if you know where to live.

Like in the north San Diego suburbs, a one bedroom in La Jolla goes for $1000+, but less than five miles away in Claremont you can get a three bedroom house for that much. And Claremont isn’t a bad part of town. So, if you work in La Jolla and make some decent cash, but live in Claremont, you can do pretty well.

One advantage is that you never have to worry about rust, winter tires, etc… ever again.

hmm… To be quite honest, a change of scenery would probably do me some good, but I know for a fact that im gonna have to touch base and chill in Pittsburgh for a while. the g/f misses all her friends/family. But im sure she’ll get sick of them not long after we move back. You and TJ can go out and get everything all set up and I’ll move out next summer or something. Gotta get in the black $$ wise and get a car that can actually make the drive… :eek3:

And you really should have told me you listened to KMK.

Me  KMK.

 My dad lives near Autobacs… to bad it wasn’t there when I visited…

i ‘hung out’ with d-loc after a concert in cleveland once… :hs:

aim or pm’s

see any “Pimp My Ride” victims yet??

I just went to Cali PA

And if you go to Compton… :scared:

or if you stop at a gas station / supermarket and expect someone to speak english…

im still here waiting for you sweetcakes. :kekegay:

All these places (i.e. SoCal, OC, NYC, Flordia) are fun to play at but living there = :ugh:

cost of living in Pgh =

I’m not in SoCal… I’m on the north side of the Monterey Bay but everybody here seems to claim Norcal even though it’s really Central Coast. But anyway, semantics aside I sort of agree w/ your Logic.

There was a study done regarding the least affordable places to live in the US. The way they determined this was to compare the average income to the average selling cost of a home in the city. They had some number, I think it was like 2/3 of your monthly income that they considered reasonable to spend on a mortgage. The discrepancy between what a 30 year mortgage w/ 10% down would cost monthly and what 2/3 of the average monthly income in a city is determined how (not) affordable a city was. Santa Cruz was among the worst in the nation. And that’s not even addressing the fact that who the fuck has $50,000 sitting around for a down payment (they assumed the down was available).

So in other words very very very very few people that live in Santa Cruz can technically afford to buy a house here. Those that do are either wealthy from family etc. or have super high paying jobs over the hill (Silicon Valley) but choose to make the commute to live in SC.

Your average working Joe has no hope of buying a house here. You really can’t get into anything ‘decent’ below $300,000, and that is usually either a small run-down old ass house on a tiny lot or a government subsidized track house also on a small lot. Half a million is really the starting point for respectable houses. :frowning:

Thats awesome. I havent been able to see them live yet, but I want to really bad. The g/f has seen them 3 or 4 times and has also “hung out” with them after the show. I am very jealous. She saw Oakland cops stuff and cuff Pakalika for smoking a cigar on Forbes. I dont know why though, I though cigars were legal. It must have been a cuban or something. :embarassd

saw them down in laga 2 or 3 times as well… good times, it’s been a few years now that i think about it… … played pimp twist as the final song and teh pittsburgh smuts got nekkid  :bj:
