Any non-tech positions at all? Fiancée is looking.
No, sorry. IT as of now…
I agree. Any job is what you make it, and hey… the money is right, so why not? It was that way when I worked for Comcast, you may get stuck with a crap shift here and there but as long as you got a paycheck at the end of the week, it didn’t matter.
Oh I forgot to ask does this position have on call?
Yes, on your days off (1 weekend a month I believe) but in most cases you will not be contacted but you get compensated for an hour if you do 15 mins of work (like any other company). Forgot to mention this is an hourly position so the possibilities are endless when it comes to OT (on-call) and holiday pay.
Wow… that oncall sounds awesome. We are on call a week a month, get woken up 4-6 times a night while also working 40 hours during the week. Its sweet…
I would really have to change my troubleshooting technique though…
I’m a google ninja when it comes to troubleshooting weird issues.
Problem solved.
LOL
Any chance they will be hiring UNIX/Storage/Backup Admin/Engineer in the near future?
Don’t quote me on it but I believe that is how it works.

Possibility since our Site Ops just went 24/7 and the construction is not done yet. There are 5 separate buildings (3 in old picture) with the goodies.
There is another 2 “chicken coops” on the other side of the main building
Not in the field but I’d much rather work 3rd shift than have to get up at like 6am.
ITT?
lol no
ITT is a career killer
It’s a huge waste of money and you need to be highly motivated to make anything of yourself after you go there.
I dunno if it’s a career killer, but definitely a terrible choice. I’m of course speaking first hand. If you or a friend or even an enemy is thinking of going to ITT…don’t.
I personally know 3 companies that toss any resume with ITT on it in the trash.
My manager does as well. There’s a few local ITT-like places in the area that are the same, they go in the trash.
You’re better off not even including it on your resume.
That kinda stinks…Not everyone who goes there is inept. Just 99% of the people. My buddy who does web design for a living and has done some notable clients, went there to basically get the piece of paper saying he has a degree in it. I understand why companies would throw them out, but not everyone is an imbecile.
On another note my buddy was teaching on the side there and they fired him for not passing a couple that didn’t deserve to get passed.
He also never got bonuses for passing X% of people he felt if people didn’t deserve to pass they shouldn’t
ITT didn’t agree lol
The best part is all the students who gave him reviews all said he was great and that they learned the most from him.
 That’s how it should be. When did he teach there? There were a few teachers there, that really knew their shit and some that went on to more deserving positions.
Anyone who applys for anything that isn’t entry level after graduating from ITT should probably be disregarded. ITT teaches you the very basic skills of each section. Real Life >>>>>>>> ITT.
