yamaha blaster cutting out

help
i have a 92 blaster

it starts and runs great but when it get up to operating temp the revs cut out and backfire and there is no power

the rev limiter is already removed from the throttle and unplugged from the front

does any one know about the coil/spark control or carbs on these?

your description is very vague. does it run fine a low rpm like if you were just putting around the yard but when you accelerate it cuts out? or does it barely run/idle?

#1 put a fresh plug in it.
#2 if that doesn’t fix it pull the carb off and clean it making sure the jets are not plugged especially the main jet.

could be some other things but without hearing more details i don’t know

have not done a plug but have pulled the carb because of oil leak around bowl- cleaned it and the reeds
put it back - no difference

kinda why i think its electrical
what other things>

you still didn’t answer my question.

a bad plug could make it pop and backfire or not rev right.

John, sounds like a bad plug man, easy fix and i had probs like that too.

ill try the plug and get back to you

try the plug… I had a lil blaster like 2 years ago, it had an electrical problem, turned out there was a wire inside the stator that was broken off… fixed it and she ran like a champ… well until Wags blew it up!

it was the plug all along !!!:weak:

thanks guys:bigthumb:

Duh! Good to see it was an easy fix John:op:
