We had to put a front wheel bearing in my brothers explorer last night.
Advance had the bearing in stock for $219.00.
Rock auto had it for 150, plus like 20 to ship.
I walk into the advance on south transit, and talk to the guys working there. Show him the printout of the rockauto website. He’s like sure we’ll match it, but how much is shipping?
My brother says “uh like 5 bucks”.
The guy says ok fine and rings up the part for 155 plus tax.
Saved like 50 bucks just by asking.
I’ll continue to shop there.
I’m sure that some guys will give you a tough time about it, but the guys on south transit seemed to be pretty cool about it.
All parts places will do this if u want low price on good parts go to lakeland auto on niagara falls blvd the guys there are awesome i got bsp tc pads for his scion dirt cheap
That’s good to know because I was going to try being more proactive with my repairs so I could use rockauto. Good to know I can stay the procrastinating SOB I’ve always been and still get cheap parts local at the last possible minute.
The only problem with World is that their brake rotors were crap years ago. They may have changed vendors since, but when i had a shop we would not deal with them for brake rotors as it seamed every time we got them we would return them due to quality. Keep in mind this was 10 years ago or so. The prices were dirt cheap but then so was the quality
world is junk and its impossible to get what u want from them lakeland i trust i did alot of buisness with them at pepboys and never had problems they use moog suspension parts which is a plus in my book. but no to world!
We (advance auto) price match anything that has the same warranty. We can also price match places like summit, jegs etc, we just charge the extra of what the shipping would be.
