I am pretty cool I know, it is awsome being me in the “in crowd”
I have nothing against you Yam. You seemed like a decent dude if I remember correctly were you the guy with pirite? I am just telling you how it is here. It is not personal as you are taking it. Josh makes decisions they stick.
What the fucking fuck!
IDK how you say it isn’t safer to have this happen in one circumstance vs you standing out there all day.
Here are some major differences:
- You standing out there all day you will be exposed to 300 potential accidents, vs 1 potential accident
- In this case, the driver is paying attention to Jack. The whole focus is actually on Jack. Do you really think drivers hot lapping a drift course are going to be worried about a photographer on the track? No, they’re going to be focused on why they’re there.
- If you HAD gone, you would have seen the obvious LACK of control that some of the amateur drifters had as compared to the professionals… Yea, something mechanical can still go wrong, but SERIOUSLY, the skill difference is huge. I would have rather stood in that corner and let chris or cody slide it with a car I KNEW was going to break vs one of the amateurs in a car that I knew wouldn’t.
If you HADN’T made such a huge deal about it and had asked Josh nicely if you could have gone out there to take 1 or 2 pictures of Chris or Cody, I bet he would have let you, because he could have warned them that you were there and in turn they would be conscious of you.
The explanation is not worth it newman. It will never be comprehended. you may as well go jump off a bridge.
so your saying that the driver wasn’t paying attention to driving? makes sense
So what you are inferring is that when you drive you pay no attention to your surroundings?
no, newman said
“In this case, the driver is paying attention to Jack. The whole focus is actually on Jack. Do you really think drivers hot lapping a drift course are going to be worried about a photographer on the track? No, they’re going to be focused on why they’re there.”
now lets break this down
he’s saying if a driver is out there to drift, he’s not paying attention to whats around the track
he said that when jack was there, he’s paying attention to jack, which by his thinking…would put him not paying attention to driving.
a driver cant do both? or can they? someone needs to meet up and come up with one story instead of 5
why i drive i pay attention to everything, which is what pretty much anyone should do
Seriously? That’s your argument?
Can we agree to agree that you’re just not that smart?
hey man you were the one that typed it out, not me…maybe you should learn to be able to convey the thoughts you have to actual understandable statements. i mean you are the one that typed it…right?
you were the one that said flat out he wasn’t paying attention to one thing or the other, thats not even my point here, but obviously you cant read
Fuckstick, when you’re at the track you’re focusing on your driving, the cars around you, and the track. Not shit that’s offtrack and wondering if you’re going to hit it. I don’t stare at the Armco at the glen, I look at turn in, apex, and track out points. Point being if something is OFF TRACK and isn’t a predetermined stunt the driver is not looking a kid with a point and shoot camera dancing around in the run off area.
the point i was trying to make was that people were told it was too dangerous to be in the grass during the runs, so then someone rides a 20" bike, with probably near slick tires, across grass i’m assuming at a good rate of speed to a ramp(lets leave out the fact he crashed) aimed into the path of a car, that’s drifting…and you dont see something wrong with that?
---------- Post added at 06:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:32 PM ----------
that was exactly my point, like i said, so when he was jumping the car, was he watching the bike? or his driving? thats two people that have made that point, not i
maybe a predetermined bike/person sliding onto the track?
How about I rephrase it:
Under normal circumstances, the drifters do not need ANOTHER thing to worry about. They don’t need to worry about spinning out at the apex and hitting a photographer, because it’s a large grass field. In fact, given the situation being something that they likely haven’t practiced much anyway (most of the drivers were AMATEUR’S and some it was their very first drift day), their peripherals are going to suffer because their main focus is on sliding around the track, because that’s what they PAID to do. They’re not driving to the store to get milk, they’re drifting, and they shouldn’t need to worry about potentially hitting someone who doesn’t NEED to be there… it’s just adding more complexity, stress and hazards.
Then you put jack out there, ONCE, with someone who does this so frequently that their peripherals suffer less, and tell them that for this one time, they DO need to worry about more than just sliding around the track. The risk is substantially reduced.
“Look guys I know you paid 60 dollars for a drift day, but we are going to allow a photographer who has paid NOTHING to sit in the apex of turn 3, so don’t push it too hard, because we don’t want to endanger him”
you guys do know that if no one gave any response and no attention to posts like this that none of this would happen?
thats all im saying about this, no responses or anything else like that.
edit:
WTF happened to the popcorn smile?!?!
Do people that don’t get it know they don’t get it?
manylols
someone is getting a bit bent out of shape over this
none of this even matters, and thats why this is soo damn funny, all of you are stuck on the guy paying attention to whatever, so easily swayed
SHEEP
the point is, a bike headed right at a drifting car, is not safe, no matter how you look at it…professional or not, it wasn’t any more safe than a photographer on the grass thats paying attention to the cars around him. this point was proven many times, by your comments and by the fact that the bike rider wiped out and didn’t even make the jump, not to mention it wasn’t even timed right, so who knows what could of happened if the bike rider messed up even more
You guys make me look pretty smart.
This thread kind of sucks. I don’t blame Onyx for not letting a whiner like yambag take pictures.
But riding a bike at a moving car is safe.
oh how things could go wrong.

and I mean, the driver could have been a “professional” but I doubt you can call the bike rider a professional, especially seeing as he failed at landing his jump.

oh I’m hurt, You called me a whiner… lol Yet you have no clue who the hell I even am.
No, we just think like normal, reasonable people, using logic and reason, whereas you’re just living in some sort of mystical S2000 fairyland with Yeamabu where things are never what they seem.
