lol Nope, seems pretty straight forward to me. People say one things, and get pushed over by others because they are weak and cant put their foot down to say no. Hypocrites. thats all.
They’re not hypocrites. Yammy’s idea failed a cost/benefit analysis and the bmx stunt thing didn’t. It’s not like they said they weren’t willing to accept any risky activities.
Whole thread is about what is safer, Burning out and taking photos of it or taking photos of drifting cars. Everyone was so against the drifting because they “didnt want to end the day with someone getting hurt” but yet you take a bike rider with road tires over a grass section hitting a jump which sends him in the direction of a drifting car. (I’d be standing a good distance away to which I can react. Hes in the air heading at a car not away from it) I’d say the situation would be that I have a better chance of reacting and getting away from a problem than the biker heading straight at a moving car.
Edit: what happened to Liability risks and not being able to do these things with possibility of someone getting injured?
If I wanted to jump my bike over the drifting car as well… that would be ok then right? being it was a stunt and not taking pictures?
yeamabu…Just go buy a dirtbike and next time sign a waiver and use your new profesional motocross skills to jump a drifting car on your dirtbike. Then everyone will think you’re cool and want to be your friend!
Not that I am trying to continue this argument, but you are comparing many opportunities for an accident(camera) vs one(bike).
One instance of photography near drifting car(pro driver) vs one instance of bike jumping drifting car(pro driver) you are right camera is less dangerous.
Many instances of photography near drifting cars(pro + amature drivers) vs one instance of bike jumping drifting car(pro driver) tells a different story.
That being said I can understand both views on the discussion. However the people who organize the event organize the event. If they rather have a bike jump a moving car then someone taking pictures of moving cars that’s purely up to them making this whole discussion pretty much null and void…
I hardly know any of you and I have my impressions from the glorious internet… But I would never wish death or serious injury to anyone on the boards… especially if I have never met them… LOL
skurge/yammy: Lets say you have a jar filled with 300 marbles. If you blindly pick a BLACK marble you’re going to die.
Would you rather:
A) Pick a marble from a jar where 20 of the 300 marbles are black ONE TIME.
B) Pick a marble from the jar where only one of the 300 marbles is black, but you have to do it 300 TIMES.
