Yeamabu's question, AndyB learns Physics, Skurge learns Probability

Well see there you go. I would put myself in that situation, just like newman would base jump.

What the shit, we aren’t arguing whether or not you would do it, we… YOU are arguing about what is safer, lol.

Answer my marble question, lol.

Makes perfect sense. base jumping has more possible situations that can go wrong in a smaller amount of time compared to sky diving. which would you pick? 20 of 300 or 1 of 300? You would go with base jumping… why, because of the adrenaline rush.

safer is standing several yards away from a car sliding around a turn as opposed to a bike riding directly at one.

So now we are arguing about what is more fun?

I answered your safe question. Chances of the bike jumping the car and running into problems is greater than me getting hit by a car standing several yards away. bike is going directly at the car, problems that can occur: shoe lace stuck in sprocket = unable to further his momentum over the jump, bike goes off jump wrong = hitting car/landing on car/landing infront of car, Car looses control as bike is in the air = bike cant correct itself in air/lands on car, lands infront of car/car runs rider over. I can keep going.

chances of a car sliding out while drifting and heading directly at me with no chance at all to react = slim. I would generally have enough time to run to the right or left to get out of the way, being that the car has to even be heading directly at me since I’m not running at the car while its sliding around a turn.

edit: being me, If your 20 to 300 = me taking photos compared to your 1 to 300 = riding a bike at a drifting car. I’ll take the 20 to 300. happy

sorry, i wasn’t aware this was NYNICE, i haven’t seen newman be nice to a single person in years. all of the sudden it comes back around and people cant take it

cool if it happens, i’m sure there’s nothing i can do to stop it, same with your chute…

i’ve met newman many times, he’s always been a dick, even back in the ubrf days

honestly, i dont give a shit about your marbles

i’m pretty sure it was over how a bike riding at a car was more safe than standing farther away from said car

fixed

Sorry I’m sensitive.

yes, but if we are going to get that into detail on this, then you need to take into consideration the fact that as a photographer(on your two feet, which in case you didn’t know, can move you in any direction) you aren’t going to stand at the edge of the tarmac, not to mention your lens is set on whatever car is coming up to you(watching the car and not trying to ride a bike) as a biker(with less maneuverability) , you are headed right for the car.

HAHAHA! you just proved yourself WRONG!!!

the 20-300 is the ONE TIME DEAL (bike jump) , the 1-300 is the one where the risk is repeated (photos all day long). You TWIT

Guess Yambag is going to have to limit his roadside photo-taking to Whirley Dr.

I LOL’d.

I have something that will cheer EVERYONE up (except skurge)

you forgot while staring at one car(pro driven) the second car(amature driven) could hit you from behind… the scenarios are endless for both. 1x is less risky than many. I agree with you, if you are taking pictures of one car going around a track vs someone jumping the same car with a bike the second is more dangerous. But when you consider how things were actually happening… its not the case.

I was basing this off of the fact that everyone seems to assume standing there with a camera is more dangerous than the bike

he would have to jump his bike over every car that was drifting by every time they went by for it to be more dangerous than you standing where you wanted taking pictures. It’s simple math/statistics…

:bloated:

basically if you wanted to take ONE picture of ONE car…(and you and the driver talked about it first discussing his speed/where he’s gonna be/where you’re gonna be/whats going to happen), you’re argument would be valid. If jack just randomly set up his ramp and was attempting jumps over and over without planning it out with the drivers first, your argument would be valid. So by deductive reasoning since neither of these are true, your argument is invalid

This would be awsome!! But people would definitely be killed.

(plus josh wouldnt allow it) right? lol

edit: Either way the organizers choose what happens. Not the attendees.

How can you say its less dangerous. One way is standing away from the cars and running from them, the other is riding at it and trying to go over it.

edit: sorry… running if it comes at you, jumping it regardless.

even if its one time and the other is several. I’m not trying to go at the car even one time.

Some more deductive reasoning…people that suck definately don’t know they suck
