Yeamabu's question, AndyB learns Physics, Skurge learns Probability

You are assuming 3 things

  1. You see the car coming to hit you.

  2. You react in time to move.

  3. You are fast enough to move far enough.

BTW not sure if you were there, but more than one car went in a rather short time frame. You could watch one go by get a sick picture and then get hit in the ass by the other.

lets try explaining this in caveman terms.

whats more dangerous?

  1. you taking pictures of me as I cross your path 100 times, where I don’t tell you ahead of time I’m going to throw a softball at your face randomly any/all/none of those times. (you are wearing no gear and have no set place to stand, nor do I have a set time/mark to throw said ball if I decide to throw it)

OR

2)I explain to you that I am going to come by one time, and when I cross line “x” that I am going to toss a ball at you while you stand at point “y” with a catchers mit and umpire gear. We do a few fake practice runs without the ball so we can get a feel for whats really going to go down and then excecute this once for a video.

LOL.

Ok, Darwin called. He is dying to meet you and says that if you get a lawyer to draft a bullet proof waiver of liability we will totally let you get hit by a drift car and even film the whole thing for your family.

Fixed

I can’t believe this is still going. At what point are you going to realize that Skurge is just an NYSpeed troll, here to stir up shit because he hates the site because he feels he isn’t part of the “cool club”. Just put him on ignore and move on. It doesn’t matter how many times you prove he’s wrong, he’s just going to keep posting nonsense because it’s fun to him.

Bad things are always possible…if this were court Yammy would probably win the case.

Maybe Yam can stand on a 6 foot ladder taking pics, so if a car happens to get out of control it takes out the ladder and he only falls a few feet:tup:

If this were court he would win the lawsuit against us for getting hit. Hence he was not on the track.

actually, that video somewhat reinforced the FIRST agument about the stationary burnout…that dude was putting down 1200 WOT while NOT holding the brakes as you would with a burnout when it took off, and he still only lunged about one car length forward with his reaction to smash the brakes/clutch to cut power and let off the gas.

not the case at all, though you are somewhat correct, its not that i dont like the site, if that was the case i wouldn’t come here at all. I feel that as an owner of a site(any site really) you dont ever put friends as mods/admins, in the long run there is always an issue when someone crosses the line and then because they are your friend, you dont say anything…thats my whole problem and i’ve explained that i dont know how many times now. and thats great for any of you that will say i dont know what i’m talking about, i’m sure if we tallied up our experience running/modding forums, i’m sure i have you all beat by years.

i’m not stirring up anything, but when someone talks shit to me(eg. newman) i’m not going to take it like a bitch(and how 99% of the rest of you take it). i stand up for myself, not my fault that when the shit comes back around and people get all buthurt about it. if you cant take it, dont dish it out. i follow the forum rules, i dont harass people, or bash people for no reason…everything i’ve said has been commenting on others posts, or defending myself. so maybe you should actually read all the posts, understand them before you make accusations about what you think is happening

I put those up in jest, almost to show how relatively safe they are:) For the record, I think it would be pretty retarded to stand in the track with amatuer ‘drifters’.

one or 100, if they knew there was a person there, they would watch out for them. how many people hit walls that day? probably not many, cause they all knew the walls were there ahead of time, same goes for a person, if they know they are there ahead of time, there shouldn’t be an issue. not to mention all the cars are following the same path, the chances of you getting hit from behind is pretty much nothing, unless someone went WOT across the grass totally not where they are supposed to be, and by dumb luck made it to where the photographer was

there’s the point, if your buddy jack was run over and killed, i’m sure his parents would have won the lawsuit also

i dont care that no one would let yambag on the track, its the point of the whole thing. i’d stand up for anyone else in this same situation also.

Its not any of our business how someone else runs their forum/business, unless you are in business with them.

Feel free to stand up for yourself etc, but know when you are wrong.

no you are right about that its not my business, but i’d rather see this site do well than fall apart after x amount of years like ubrf did. i’m not looking out for myself here, i’m looking out for the collective whole

NOPE, Amateurs don’t always follow the “right” or “same” path.

if you were there, you would see that Tsi Talon is right…there were some noobs there making a mess of things…a kid in a 1st gen rx7 spun out at least 10 times all over the grass at different points on the track, the guy in the red 240 went into the foam blocks once and the grass probably 3 times, bing even had a handful of spin-outs.

Which I think is great that people were able to experiment with the sport with little investment. Where else can you legally drift near Buffalo? Throwing up extra obstacles for an already difficult sport for beginners is unnecessary. Its like putting pedestrians and cars in the Ride with Pride parking lot… People are learning start off slow and easy (less obstacles).

i understand they spun out, i understand they were noobs. i’m saying if someone was in the middle of the infield(not near the inner or outer loop) it would have been pretty damn safe i’d say. if you stood a bit after the start line, before the first turn, there probably wasn’t much chance of you coming near a car, and if there was, you had the whole straightaway to react to it…in any event it doesn’t matter now, i was just making the point that everyone said how unsafe it was, and then they go and jump a bike over the drifting car

---------- Post added at 02:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:34 PM ----------

was jumping a bike over a drifting car necessary? just want to point that out, there’s really no way to justify it all imo

Not many? Only takes 1.

FYI I don’t even know Jack.

If it were me and my event I wouldn’t of let that happen, but it wasn’t my event or my choice. So I just smile and walk away.

or stay and enjoy.

Sadly this is the most I have probably contributed to NYSpeed… lol

exactly, walls dont move, people do. i think i saw one person say they tapped the wall?

yep, thats the point. if they say no to one person being on the infield, should be for everyone
