yo nerds... looking for a media/dvd player

i want something i can plug into my old pos 19" tv using standard av cables (the yellow/red/white ones, duh) then can copy an avi or divx file to a flash drive, then plug it into a player hooked up to said tv and watch it that way. also, a remote would be sweet, and a dvd drive would be even sweeter. im not concerned at all about picture quality, like i said its a 20 yr old mitsubishi tv

i know some dvd players have usb in ports but i was under the impression that was only for pics and whatnot. is this true?

you could make an old shitty computer for under 100 bucks that will do that :slight_smile:

AND you could put all the SNES, NES, Sega and what not roms on it and have some serious fun :slight_smile:

dan im prob getting a new comp in a few weeks… this old one im posting from right now would prob do the trick huh

This is probably overkill, considering the TV you’re hooking it up to, but…

I’ve got 3 Philips players, 2 with USB ports, and they’ll play anything you throw into them short of a belgian waffle.

yep that would probably work fine.

You really don’t need anything ridiculous for normal videos. if you want to watch 720P or better you might run into issues.
