Story behind the B4C Package (“Police Package”):
Muscle Camaro’s through the years have also played a part in law enforcement. It started in 1979 when the California Highway Patrol evaluated a dozen specially prepared Z28s as high-speed pursuit vehicles.
Full-size Chevrolets had always appealed to local and state police departments for their interior room. By the end of the 1980s, however, the Caprice simply was not available with the high-output V-8s that were needed for pursuit work. Neither the TPI 305 nor 350 were available in the Caprice. Chevrolet responded to complaints heard from police departments by offering a Special Equipment Option (SEO) “Special Service Package.” (RPO B4C) on the Camaro RS Coupe for 1991. Available only to law enforcement, it was basically a Z28 in RS trim. The machines retained the factory spoilers and fender flares, but the expected police-associated equipment was added. The patrol’s standard-issue shotguns were shortened to fit the Z’s interior. To be sure it could be easily spot, the B4C-equipped Camaro’s did not come equipped with the Z28 hood blisters or high-profile rear spoiler.
These cars were a revelation to those police departments that bought them and the officers who drove them. They were no longer left in the dust but could easily pursue and overtake just about any car on the road, except maybe the Corvette or another Z28! Law enforcement journals began writing about the B4C Camaros and soon local and state police departments began including them in their annual budget requests. In that first year (1991) a total of 592 B4C Camaros were ordered. Of course, those eagle-eyed Camaro sleuths who discovered the 1LE option soon unearthed the B4C Special Service Package. Stealth Performance was born.

what do you guys think about me just buying a Z28 or TA then puttin the SS hood or WS6 hood on it to save some cash? Especially since the only reason i want a SS or WS6 is because the hoods make them look alot better. I will be modding this car anyhow so the minimal performance differences between 2 shouldnt matter, what do yins think?
not a bad idea. how much does not having the same suspension bother you? what about the 17in wheels? it would bother me. i would atleast want 17s, and a functional ram-air hood. the suspension is important, but not as much. …atleast to me.
