Z31 450hp stitch welded soon to be masterpiece

Also, did you grind the intake to make room for the Z31 distributor and wire to fit in there? or are you going to be putting the Pathfinder distributor in? I was tempted to grind mine to make that plug cap fit but I figured with my luck I would see light.

I am using a distributor that is from some other vg 30. I am not sure what from, either a pathfinder or maxima or something. It is probably an older pathfinder. I got it from the junkyard off a motor that someone had removed from a vehicle and had sitting by the front office, I didn’t see anyone around so I removed it and payed for it. The only thing that is different than the stock z31 distributor is that the coil connection comes in on the opposite side (front of engine vs. back side). With the stock distributor the coil connection is in the way of the manifold as you know.

So are you welding the stock idle control flange in aswell??

[/quote]Good to see you building it up to anhialate Mustangs

ive never seen a mustang that can beat a 300zx, especially with a turbo!
my friends 50th AE, smokes mustangs! they are of no competition!

anyways, good work on your car man, you have given me quite a few ideas for my 300zx!
your giving us all hope that our 300zx could be that cool one day!

Could be this cool but will it??

J/K man, thanks for the compliment.

its already cool

wanna race my friends tt mustang? or another mustang on nitrous? :E

When i am done sure… :finga: Is it Jason’s that owns the paint shop??

Jasons on nitrous, and my other friends mustang is twin turbo’d(500whp)

Do you know Jason’s other friend with the grey single turbo mustang with 460hp?

i used to be friends with him… hes a big fucking loser.

my friends tt 302 is faster than his big single.

Twin turbo and only 500 hp seems like a waste of time…

only 500hp? Most would agree that is good enough for the street, and I’m sure it would make more with race gas and increased boost.

What do you have left to do until the Z is on the road Jason?

My thoughts exactly. If a guy brings a turbo I always suggest bringing one yourself. A TT 302 should do well against a single turbo VG30E.

“So are you welding the stock idle control flange in aswell??”

Nope, I’m just going to keep it on there and plug it in, why not right?

on a side note, if anyone needs an egr block off plate for their 300zx manifold the pathfinder intake has one on it. I found this out when I got the pathfinder manifold after I had one custom made.

I am however a little nervous about cutting a hole in my hood but whatever. I received my boost gauge yesterday, I’m pshyced, it’s for an airplane and it matches the stock gauges so perfect, it’s really accurate and it only goes up to 15psi (more than enough for my Z for now) so it’s easy to tell the reading with just a quick glance, which is more important to me than flashy looks and a gauge that goes up to 30lbs, it only cost $15 w/shipping off E-bay.

I don’t want you information in my thread, I am getting sick of all the clutter, this isn’t a chat, it is my cars showcase. Please use the technical forums for your technical threads.

Very true please start a new thread in the RWD tech section.

Im just saying he could have gone NA and had the same amount of power for cheaper…

CHRIS READ WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE LAST POSTS…

Sold the Blitz ct-26 today and got a turbonetics gt35r ball bearing turbo. This turbo should do way better for my setup and provide way more air than the upgraded toyota turbo. Now I just gotta make a flange and do some little modifications. I am so happy I got it brand new still it the box for 1000 cad. It is a .86 ar compressor and .70 exhaust side. Should do well for me. I also got My JE’s coated at top gun coatings so they will go in soon all that is lef t is a Rad, Windshield, injectors and microtech. I am getting so close, Wow it has almost been a year since it has ran.

So after catching a ring while installing the std size dett pistons I had to have the block remachined and I had to purchase oversized pistons. I got JE’s 0.040 over with coating so it is just under 3.1 litres. I also got venom 680cc injectors and arp rod bolts and a z32 crank machined to fit my sohc block. Here is a couple pics, enjoy.
