+10 points for it being a wagon.

Planning on going to AutoX’s this year as well? Possibly even a track day?

i always go to AutoX. however ive never been to the highspeed one at amec. track day i don’t know about. are you a regular AutoXer, if so what do you drive?

Hey you got my number, give me a call when you’re doing the swap I’d be glad to stop by and document it if I’m free.

And don’t think your tranny is anything special, I’ll drop my shit into D3 and show you what’s up! :rofl

haha, i’m doing it up at Freds dads garage. he’s got all the tools and shit and floor space to do it, but i’ll let you know. tentatively we are gonna start next friday afternoon.

Haha, last time I AutoX’ed I was in my Crx.

Last time she ran was around '08 :lol

I loved autox in the past, but if I actually finish either of the current projects I’ll likely be going to a circuit event (not amec) with Cossey wherever he goes. Limerorck, Watkins, who knows. After going to NHMS on the bike I got the bug and don’t want to play in a parking lot anymore :frowning:

Picked up new winter wheels or maybe every day wheels if i want to save tread on my autox tires.

5x100 BBS (stock 04 sti rims)

I’d say their about a 7.5 out of 10. They could use some cleaning up, a little dremeling and a respray.

Also got the Center diff control unit in today

More good news is that the swap came with a full rear subframe and rear lateral links, so a few less things i have to buy. It’s also gonna make it easier to swap everything in and out.

I’m having the rotors turned also because i have no idea how long its been since they were used.

Why hasn’t anyone yelled at this guy for his “ridiculous” gauge pod on the top of the dash? Same pod i have just off to the side…

Other than that, I’d like to meet up with you at some autocrosses

.

…still on top of the dash, blocking view out the front window.

Lol Ernie see how it sits as high as his instrument cluster? Unlike yours which protrudes above the cluster, DIRECTLY in front of you.

Regardless obviously your pod works for you Ern and same for him so who really cares. Alright Devin we’ll stop pooping in your thread now.

Neither of the pods I have obstructed the view. And they’re on the dimmer wiring too so they’re not bright at night either.

They do seem bright in that photo lol

I didn’t have the lights on to have them show up in the picture. If the lights or running lights are on they go dim. And the lights in the picture are the daytime running lights

New winter rims are on.

Looks AWESOME

OK, so rear diff, axles, hubs, rear brembos, e-brake, rear lateral links are done.

Old tranny and driveshaft are out along with the front hubs, axles and lower control arms.

Old wires from tranny are swapped to new tranny.

Tomorrow will bring the tranny, front axles, hubs, BIG ASS BREMBOS, clutch n flywheel, DCCDpro wiring, aem wideband (while i’m in there) and a bunch of other finishing shit.

I have some pics but i’m gonna go chow some food and drink some beers.

Started with the console

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg23/scaled.php?server=23&filename=imag0197qf.jpg&res=medium

Jacked her up and got goin

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg33/scaled.php?server=33&filename=imag0198j.jpg&res=medium

Got the control arms and axles out, as well as the driveshaft
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg96/scaled.php?server=96&filename=imag0201m.jpg&res=medium

Got the whole rear subframe with diff, axles, hubs, and rotors off
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg29/scaled.php?server=29&filename=imag0202y.jpg&res=medium

New shit came with sti subframe so we assembled everything before we had to jack it into place which saved us a shitload of time and frustration.

Old tranny out
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg818/scaled.php?server=818&filename=imag0205gt.jpg&res=medium

we stopped for the night because and resumed in the afternoon with fresh energy

the new trans weighs about double and we fought like a bastard to get that son of a bitch in. we got that in then got the driveshaft all hooked up, front axles, and hubs connected. took the brakes off one at a time to try and not get air in the lines, then replaced with the brembos. Got the starter on, clutch slave cylinder. got the brakes and clutch going. Then we wired up the DCCD controller. After that we called it a night and resumed in the morning.

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg837/scaled.php?server=837&filename=imag0210za.jpg&res=medium

We finished the wiring, started to put the interior back together, got the ebrake cables hooked up, tires on, then we did an eyeball alignment for toe because i had to get an alignment but had to drive 50 miles to my house. re-checked all bolts and took her for a shaky ride because the car was trying to fight itself because of our shit alignment.

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg20/scaled.php?server=20&filename=imag0214qs.jpg&res=medium

I also had importimageracing 2 day me a rear 22mm sti whiteline adjustable sway bar, sti pillowball endlinks, a front 22mm sedan bar, and sedan endlinks because the stuff i had was binding up bad

Now i need some camber bolts or plates in the front because my summer tires are sticking waaay out and they’ll be 5mm further out than this because i need spacers to clear the brembos

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg710/scaled.php?server=710&filename=imag0221mm.jpg&res=medium

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg24/scaled.php?server=24&filename=imag0222q.jpg&res=medium

the rears will be ok (if anything i need to dial camber out because its at like -2.6 rear)
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg545/scaled.php?server=545&filename=imag0223b.jpg&res=medium

i also put on STI front and rear badging, i did LED lighting for the interior and the license plate, i put an STI ebrake in (just bling)

i still need a shift boot, shifter trim, camber bolts or plates, 5mm hub spacers, extended studs and new lugs

i still need to wire in my A/F gauge, debadge the wrx/impreza badge, and learn to drive the new tail happy whip ( i might go softer on the rear bar because it steps out a shitload)
