just had a similar situtation even if there was an insurence lapse there is still no fine you are just not allowed to regester another vehicle for as long as the lapse was
My ex GF’s son just recently paid over $300.00 for not turning in his plates and letting the insurance lapse.
hmmmm not really sure then cuz i was just at the dmv two days ago and the lady ensured me that there was no fine, i am just not allowed to register a vehicle for like 20 days or something like that what happened was i sold my nova and forgot to hand in the plates and then for some reason the insurence got dropped on it so…not really sure
I believe both you and JuicedSS are correct. If you lapse insurance for 20 days you can either pay the fine and register right away or wait 20 days and pay no fine.
right. it’s one or the other. you either pay the fine or wait the time you had the plates out for. there is a one (maybe two) week grace period.
