Same Q here. I’m wondering where Al made up ~127hp without changing boost. Obviously switching dyno types is probably a major factor in it. Not that Al isn’t a great tuner, I’ve just seen some of his tunes on my customers cars here that were seriously knife edge like(like Eric’s Evo with ~15-20 cts of knock) pushing things a bit hard to meet #'s
569 is amazing any way you look at it though and I’d certainly be happy with power like that. That car must scream now!
the dyno at ICS is notoriously high, which is fine as long as you don’t compare tunes using those numbers (ie: moon vs ics)
I would def have that tune checked though. Al’s reputation is inconsistent, just like his tunes.
:nod, or at least log it really well to see what’s going on under the hood. Better safe than sorry(just knowing Al’s tunes that is)
My friend has his evo 8 tuned there and his car has ran flawless ever since and put down 502 on pump/meth witha 30r on a built 2.0l. I guess it does vary cause Ive seen horror stories on evom also.

I thought my car was running great to until Justin logged it and saw the massive knock.
and by massive he means 25 counts at at peak tq…terrifying.
The way the car was running before this, I really don’t think it gets much worse.
He went to the same guy a while ago with the Evo and was more than impressed.

yeah, but was it logged? you can’t tell shit until it was logged. From inside my car, it felt strong and smooth, but it really wasn’t at all.
I thought it was fine on the street, pulled like a freight train until it went to the track, and then it was just “WTF HAPPENED?!”
But more to that story, there is a problem with the boost controller also.
I only talked to Josh quick on my way home last night, so we’ll have to wait for him for more details.
The lazy fuck has had the last three days off from work, so I haven’t been able to talk to him as much.
Wow. I have to agree with everyone else, log your car asap!! That is a huge gain for just a reflash, regardless of the dyno difference. Al has been notorious for being inconsistent and putting out horrible tunes. Good luck! Hopefully everything is fine, and the previous tune was just that bad that the new one significantly improved it.
I hate to say that hopefully Seth’s tune was that shitty, but in this case it’s the better thing to hope for.
And since he went to Al once before and had no issues, I’m really hoping that’s going to be the case now.
It’s impossible to say if it had issues or not the first time unless someone was logging the car…as GranMassa said when Shop X tuned his car…he had no idea how much abuse the poor 4g63 was really taking until we logged it…low and behold…TONS of knock :headbang
IIRC… this guy (dunno his name) said the car was awesome on the ride home and great for the next couple days until all of a sudden the car fell flat on it’s face. The tune doesn’t change! It can’t just stop working. how is it the tune’s fault?
There was no problem on the street, but on the track it was like “what is going on right now…”
God only knows what the problem is at this point, so many people have had their hands in it.
It was tuned by Al, then half tuned in Jersey, brought to Moon, then brought back to Al.
I just really don’t give a fuck if anyone wants to get butt hurt 'cause he got it retuned after Seth.

Get off seths nuts. If a tune is that horrible on a car how do they last this long. My friends evo has been running fine since he was tuned at big al over a year ago and he daily drives it. You guys cant get over the fact there are better tuners out there. Great hes your friend and all but in the end the tune on that evo sucked
